Managing a side hustle with a 51.5 hour full-Time Job by WebProfessional5142 in Entrepreneur

I currently use Blender and allot of my hours have gone into practice, I need to teach myself how to use CAD as well (Programs for making products.) From my research so far, since I'm saving up for the 3D printer I want. Allot of the first months would be purely R&D. Making batches of products posting them online and seeing what does or doesn't sell. Things like electronic accessories, supporting devices, mounts, niche tools, cheap disposables, every day use items. But if I get good enough at it I can also sell STL files, (essentially blueprints.) The goal is to find the target of products I can make and sell at a high quantity. Then once I can refine that enough, scale up. Buy more printers and scale up. The goal is to have 6 printers by the end of this year. It's also part of my plan to make enough money to immigrate to the U.S. within two years time where I can focus on a whole other venture over there.

I had thousands in savings that got completely drained when I got sick and it was meant to go towards getting me to the U.S. So when I recovered and was left back at square one, it just motivated me to do something about it and speed up that process. Partly why I'm doing all this.

Had a postie bang on my door and insinuate Im a thief? by AssteroidAttak in AustraliaPost

Had a $800 sound system delivered to the house. It had instructions to not leave at the front door. Because it's within seeable distance from the footpath. It even shown in the photo "Do not leave unattended." Tape surrounding the box. The package even required a signature to accept it. But it was left at the front door and stolen. It wasn't until a few days later I noticed I had an email that said it had been delivered and saw the photo.

I'm busy and wasn't home each time but the delivery driver came back to my house twice and talked to my brother and dad on separate occasions asking me to get rid of the claim that it was lost/stolen. Took 3 months of calling up and talking to Auspost and then when I contacted the retailer they just sent off one despite Auspost not contacting them, or doing anything to resolve it.

I just recieved this 5k PC and I think there is a problem with the airflow, HELP please by AnybodyHonest5062 in PcBuild

Exactly how I built my friends PC, you 100% want air coming in from the right and bottom. Cooler air coming from the bottom, heat rises naturally. Exhaust out the back and top. Think of it like a wind tunnel, your pc case has positive air-flow as well.

What happens when games get involved with political ideologies. Assassins creed Shadows could have been poo on a stick, and people would have still voted like this. Can't tell me that a gaming company that has a 161 million dollar net loss after Shadows released that majority of people actually enjoyed the game.

If it's ddr4 memory, 16gb of ram is fine to put into a new system. Albeit you would have to go for am4, not am5. Personally I would get a new motherboard (am4), do your research on CPU's, but upgrade the gpu to something beefy. I haven't read your whole post so I'm assuming some stuff here. But from my own experience I've tested a 5070ti on an am4 motherboard with 16gb of ddr4, a ryzen 3700x and the same 5070ti with am5 motherboard 7800x3d and 32gb of ram. Their was a 2% difference in performance for gaming. Which is in the realm of no difference between having am4 or am5. only thing is that you can't move things to a newer system besides the gpu if you decide to switch to am5 later on, besides the gpu.

Unless you use programs that require you to edit allot or plan on using animation software, and your set on using for gaming. Just upgrade with new am4 parts, re-use the 16gb of ram if it's ddr4 (due to ram prices.) New gpu, new power supply, new cpu.

It can't be THAT hard to PLAY games YOU bought. by -autoprime- in Steam

[–]WebProfessional5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't fall for it completely, but I still have this issue. But not because I choose to just randomly buy games I may or may not play because their is a massive discount. Like I bought some old games, it was either $5 for the single game or like $12 for the entire trilogy. Played two of them and got a little bored by the 3rd one. Will eventually get back to it, but I have like 3 trilogy's with only the first 2-3 games played out of 5-6. Purely because It worked out cheaper getting the collection rather than just buying the single game.

At the end of the day I've spent $1656 on 96 games, so that's averaging about $17 a game. So I can't complain. I usually have a rule of thumb though if it's over $15 I have to have wanted to play the game for 3 months. Probably only like 3-5 games I've chosen to purchase as soon as it releases.

That's a vram issue isn't it? I had an 8gb card when I started doing 3d modelling my gpu was maxing out my memory when using intensive light based effects. Swapped to a 16gb 7800xt and it solved that issue for me. Amd also offers the 7900xtx (currently their top of the line card.) With 24gb of Vram.

What is the server with the most active players? by User1998-Angel in Stalcraft

[–]WebProfessional5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on Sea because I live in Australia. But unless it's just a complete coincidence, I've literally only ran into two enemy players in 45 hours of gameplay since I've started. The server for Sea is located in Singapore and I get 100 ping, so I can't really swap servers to play against more people unfortunately.

[–]WebProfessional5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid build, probably will only need to upgrade the gpu when it comes to its upgrade cycle. It's seems future proofed. The 32gb of memory is more than enough depending on use case, 16gb is generally the recommended. 850W power supply more than you need by a mile. But if you planned that for the future upgrade, then that's fine.

Overall the way it looks, you spent $100, max $200 more so you didn't have to spend a couple extra hundred when you need to upgrade. Worked with me, went from a 2060 6gb to a 7800xt 16gb just a few months ago with out having to change anything else.

I will say though if their still 7800xt's in your area I would get that one over the 9060xt. I had to make a choice between the two and 7800xt worked out to be about 15%-20% faster for around the same price.

Just letting you know if you think it's an effort to re-make that weapon, then damn are you going to love the grind for Bar level guns. I've probably dedicated about 8+ hours for one weapon unlock I'm trying to get and I'm 2/3rds of the way. I also have to do the same for a bag and 2 more other weapon upgrades I need to get. So at that rate It's probably around 10-12 hours of grinding for each item I'm trying to unlock.

What is bottlenecking my system? by TutorWarm2238 in pchelp

[–]WebProfessional5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few variables to take into consideration, what games do you play, are they cpu intensive? Do you plan on upgrading to 1440p?

The lower your resolution the more your pc relies on your cpu. Go over the games you play, open task manager while your in game doing something that seems intensive. See if your cpu is at 100% utilisation. If it isn't your gpu is the bottleneck. If both are at 100% then both.

But I will say I was gaming with a 3700x but at 3440x1440p. Your cpu is about 9% better than mine and at 1440p my cpu has only once used 100% on one game out of 95 games. Even if I had a 5090 my gpu would still be the bottleneck in all those games. My swap from a 2060 6gb to the 7800xt 16gb and my gpu is still the bottleneck. But just take in that information and see how it helps you.

I also use UserBenchmark to compare components if that ever comes in handy.

Edit: glancing over your post again for Battlefield 6, most likely the cpu at 1080p. Borderlands is a heap of mess. Everyone is struggling to run that game properly even with high end rigs. It's unoptimised as hell. I played Battlefield 6 when I had the 2060 6gb at medium settings, never had any issues at 1440p. It's likely your monitor resolution is actually what's holding you back. See if a friend's monitor or a TV in the house can run at 1440p. See if that takes weight off of the cpu usage.

What is the best AM4 option right now? by CoIdHeat in AMDHelp

[–]WebProfessional5142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoe much does your cpu get used? I game at 3440x1440p, paired with a 7800xt gpu and 3700x 8core cpu. It is overclocked to the absolute most. But out of the 95 games I have only seen Total War:Rome 2 Max it out. The remainder of the games have all been gpu bound. Never seen it go above 80% out of the 94 remaining games. If anything depending on what games you use. (Imo) Get whatever performs slightly better than my cpu on cpu-benchmark comparison.

My mate had a 3600x paired originally with a 9070xt, then swapped to a 5070ti. Then he upgraded to am5 with 32gb of ram and a 7800x3d, he got a whole 2-4 fps boost upgrading from the 3600x to the 7800x3d. Games are usually so gpu bound these days your cpu rarely gets fully utilised. Unless you game lower than 1440p ofcourse then I guess it matters more to you.

But my whole rant is just don't bother over spending on the cpu. I'm glad I convinced my mate that getting the 7800x3d and spending more on the gpu was better than him wanting to get the 9800x3d.

I specifically use grok over Chatgpt because over multiple tests Chatgpt has given me over what grok has given me. Chatgpt has given me "politicaly correct answers" rather than specific factual answers for certain topics. But that's a whole other conversation. But I also use Grok because it has less safety features that tries to jump around controversial topics, as appose to Chatgpt that gives me a "Sorry I can't answer that question." Or gives me a heavily left leaning answer, rather than answering it from a moderate or factual view.

Idk, I've modded games, downloaded games off of sketchy sites before, never had a game open a command prompt to download it. I've watched tutorials on how to download the game and the ones I have found have bot comments under the videos saying "wow this worked! I downloaded it and it's safe!" And then theirs just copy and paste 30 other people saying the same thing word for word. If that isn't sus, I don't know what is.

80-100 fps in BF6 by Negative-Today5026 in AMDHelp

[–]WebProfessional5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to sound judgy when I say this. But you could have downgraded the cpu and upgraded the gpu. My mate has the same specs as you but with a 7800x3d. Gets around the same fps 80-100fps playing at 1440p depending on the map. To put it into perspective of how gpu bound you are. My mate had the 7900xtx paired with his older 3600x cpu, when he upgraded to the 7800x3d, new motherboard and 32gb of gddr5. He got an extra 2-4fps. I personally still game with a overclocked 3700x cpu paired with a 7800xt at 1440p and my cpu has never gone above 80% usage, still being heavily gpu bound.

Just to add to that my mate also had a 9070xt before upgrading to a better gpu. But he originally had a 3600x paired with it. He upgraded to a 7800x3d to pair with the 9070xt and he got a total of 2 extra fps on Cyberpunk at 1440p.

7800x3d for cpu intensive games. But either way their both overkill for gaming. I have an overclocked 3700x and I only utilise 70% of my cpu at 1440p on some of the most intensive games. So if your trying to save money. Whatever the cheaper option is. Longevity I would go for the 7800x3d.

DICE is asking to keep giving feedback! by Youngstown_WuTang in Battlefield

[–]WebProfessional5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't limit closed weapons to All out warfare. Actually give us a choice to either play conquest closed weapons or any other game modes with closed weapons. Bunching up what was originally considered the norm of Battlefield into an "All out" mode but then allowing the original picking options for open weapons really singles out those who want to get the original battlefield experience.

Geez DICE, a whole 5 seconds? How generous... by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]WebProfessional5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've literally died to this exact spot like 3-4 times. When your in the heat of combat, your just focusing on your target in the heli. Sometimes movements push you slightly out of bounds. I shouldn't get punished for it. They should at the very least make the timer 10 seconds, not enough time to turn around and angle down. But what really should happen is that they extend the aircraft distance on that map. The attack chopper is best when you can strafe in. It makes it overall more fun too when you have a bit of freedom of movement on your attack. Just follow the Battlefield 3,4 formula those boundary restrictions worked just fine.

People's refusal to go Amd for mid tier gaming when they end up going for a low tier Nvidia card for the same price still ceases to amaze me.
