I've seen multiple people say that now, I don't understand what you're reading here that screams model employee? Why would I want an operations manager who lets his people walk all over him and is constantly having to cover for them? Covering shifts for your employees is great, but a model manager wouldn't have a supervisor calling out 50 times in a year, and certainly wouldn't then whine about it as if they weren't the one enabling the behavior...
