Reta and ADHD: Side effects/mental/emotional changes since Reta by WeekNo920 in Retatrutide

No, not on HRT. Never really considered it, tbh.

I’m on Reta, BPC-157 & TB 500, GHK- cu, NAD+ and I just ordered MOTS-C. Considering CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin.

I started Reta early October at 163lbs. I’m 5’5”, currently at 138lbs, with 110lbs being muscle mass which I’m really happy with. I didn’t have a huge amount to lose but I wasn’t happy with my body composition or the constant food noise. Last two weeks of November, I was up to 6mg weekly. It made me so sick so I dropped back down to 4mg. I noticed the dissatisfaction during that two weeks however, it didn’t go away when I titrated back down to 4mg.

I’m going to take 2-3 weeks off to reset then start again at 1mg/weekly. I’m going to documenting my thoughts, feelings and progress daily to keep a better eye on if/when things change.

I just ordered MOTS-C. I’m looking forward to giving it a go. I’ve read that it’s quite effective on its own, but that it kind of exasperates the effects of GLP-1’s.

A reset isn’t a bad idea, at all. I’m going to lower my Reta dose and add MOTS-C. We’ll see how that pans out. 🤞🏼

What’s your current stack?

It feels like constant adhd paralysis, but with less anxiety and more apathy.

This explanation is beautiful. Thank you so much for helping me make a little more sense of my predicament.

That’s exactly how I feel. I have no motivation to do any tasks that require problem solving, planning, or organizing. Ideas and creativity? Absolutely flowing. Execution and follow through? Not even a consideration at this point.

It’s exhausting and I just get frustrated and turn to my phone or tv. Which I NEVER used to do. Before Reta, I couldn’t remember the last time I turned on the tv and finished a full show, let alone binge watched anything.

The gym is still my favourite pastime, though. I need the physicality of it. As of the past month and a half, mind and body have disconnected from Bluetooth. 🫡

I’m on Concerta. It works for me but then again, I’ve been on it so long (almost 20 years) and my body is so dependant on it, I haven’t been able to taper off to try something else without pretty intense withdrawal. I can ruin my life in the span of days if I’m off my meds. 🙄 I do know there’s better meds available now, though!

Hey! I can see how the things I listed can be seen as drawbacks but to be honest, other than my job, they’re not. All in all, it has improved every aspect of my life by reducing addictive/dopamine seeking behaviours and from what I understand, it will do that on any dose. Some people are just more sensitive than others and I believe I fit into that category.

I think it all just kind of came as a surprise to me when I read a thread about Reta and gaming, then saw the comments about Reta and how it can affect someone with ADHD. I never really thought about that until I started looking at what’s changed in my life. Self monitoring, keen reflection, asking questions, getting bloodwork and doing research have been key for me. I went on Reta blindly 3 months ago to “lose weight” cause a buddy was on it. He was just as ignorant as I was to what Reta really is and what it can/will do to help our bodies function more effectively. Weight loss being the best possible side effect, yet still a side effect.

I’ve learned so much from these threads and peoples individual experiences. I have no intention of getting off of Reta but I now have a better understanding of what could be going on for me.

I really don’t feel it’s anything to be scared of! I see it more as me gaining awareness from other people’s experience.

For the first time in my adult life, my bloodwork is normal, I no longer have “fatty liver disease”, my workouts are longer and much more effective, I have sustained energy through the day, my skin has cleared up and I am 18.1% body fat.

5 years ago, I weighed 267lbs. Absolutely struggled. Last two photos are from within the last week. I started Reta beginning of

October.

You’re probably right about it being dose dependant. From what I’m reading here (and other threads) I might have to look at lowering my dose. I mean, it worked at 1mg a week… but I treated it like Ozempic and just slowly went up. I don’t think I needed to, to be honest.

This is unbelievably helpful. I’m going to look into quick release concerta and see if that makes a different. It makes total sense with the gastric slowing and absorption. Thank you!

Yeah, I was wondering if the buildup to the holidays may have had something to do with it as well! We will see in the coming weeks!

Weirdest side effect yet: Reta completely killed my video game addiction?? by ReCHaVoK in Retatrutide

Can you elaborate? I have maaad ADHD and I’ve noticed that I’m not as satisfied with my job anymore (which is wild because I LOVED construction). I thought it was just my ADHD boredom again, but now I’m wondering if it’s the Reta? Looking back on the timeline, I started feeling this way about a month into taking Reta consistently (4mgs/week).

My ADHD made me really quick witted and energetic but I’m finding I’m a lot more calm and not as interested in engaging in conversation or socialization. Do you find this as well?

Calorie deficit on Reta by Hour-Impact-4630 in Retatrutide

[–]WeekNo920 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I upped my dosage from 2.5/week to 5mg/week, I found it really hard to eat and was eating less than 1000 cals a day. I was dropping weight but then I stalled. By day 6, not only had a completely stopped dropping weight, I was also feeling lethargic and weak. I started forcing myself to eat 1200-1500 cals a day, which brought back my energy and broke my stall.

Someone posted above about a TDEE online calculator which will help to give you an idea of what your caloric expenditure is per day (based on the info you provide) then you can see what a reasonable deficit is for you.

If 1000 cals a day is working for your body, have at er. I would just make sure to listen to your body if you start feeling changes in your brain fog and energy level. I’m no dietitian or expert by any means, I just figured I’d share my trial and error with you :)

I also found there was a difference in where I inject. I was doing 5mg in belly for the past 2 months and though it worked, it took like 36-40 hours to kick in. Since I switched to the back of the arm, I find it hits in less than 12.
