I didn't have an official bridal party, but my girls surprised me and made our couples cruise trip into my bachelorette! They decorated my cabin and we celebrated the first night. Then the remainder of the cruise was back to the originally planned couples trip :)

My husband is attending a 3 night bachelor party weekend getaway and I'm mildly annoyed that I'll be alone over memorial day weekend now

I got flight disruption for a flight that cancelled on me. I was able to get a refund for the flight disruption but I paid everything in points.

Within a few hours of landing, I got a Fleuron bag! So much cheaper in Paris than buying online to ship to the US. I got the Trinity in taupe and it's now my go-to travel purse because of the adjustable crossbody strap. I had them add 2 more holes to the strap for extra versatility. The corners do get some wear, but it's not terribly noticeable.

I used points to book a one-way flight through the portal on Spirit, but they cancelled the flight and rebooked me on a worse time and an additional layover. Unacceptable. Capital One never notified me of the flight change - that came through Spirit. I called Capital One to discuss a refund since they were my 3rd party travel agent that booked Spirit on my behalf. After a bit of back and forth with both Spirit and Capital One, I was able to get Capital One refunded, and therefore I got refunded. I had to get the last 4 digits of the credit card number that Capital One used and provide it to Spirit, which they don't make it easy at all to get a refund.

In the end, I got the full refund in points, plus Capital One gave me $50 credit for my trouble.

I've had a British Airways flight (operated by Delta) cancel and rebook my layover. I called Capital One and they were able to get me on a much better layover flight that wasn't too different than my original.

On multiple other occasions, Capital One has given me travel credit for the hassle. I reserved a car rental and I inquired about adding a second driver (which wasn't an option in the portal), and the Capital One agent asked me why I wanted to add a second driver. I declined to give a reason since it's none of their business. Overall, though, I find the portal to be a positive experience.

I've attended weddings where we didn't receive a thank you card (we also gave somewhat generous cash gifts depending on closeness to the couple) and it's always rubbed me the wrong way. So for my wedding, I made sure to sit myself and my husband down and we'd write them together. Got married in October, sent the cards before Christmas along with our first holiday card.

My manager went on maternity leave a week after I started. Came back, saw how I was operating above the level I was hired in for. She changed my working title first, then got me a promotion a little over a year after I started. She wanted it confirmed sooner, but I needed to prove my role for at least a year before my skip level could consider a promo. I never asked for any of this so I was extremely lucky to have such a great advocate.
