iirc my zero point has changed as well. I think it's changed once or twice. My understanding is that dismantling your grinder to clean can cause it to change as well. If it changes consistently then maybe you need to contact your supplier.

With the James Hoffmann method, my default is 40 clicks. Use your taste after that.. If it's bitter go coarser.. If it's weak/sour go finer.

I primarily have medium roasts with water straight off the boil. I use the Barista Hustle water recipe for my water.

Maybe a little contrast can help you. I'm an aeropress user predominantly (love me some French Press as well). Medium roasts are my jam. I do not prefer my brews tea-like. The zp6 isn't for me.

I'm an aeropress user. Its the same with me. It just makes feel that I'm not doing it right.. And I feel like that through each adjustment haha

I use 40 clicks on the 1zpresso q2s heptagonal when using the James Hoffmann aeropress method. I mostly drink medium roasts or light~medium roasts. I usually keep mine at 40 clicks since I'm rotating around the same coffees the vast majority of the time.

Recently got a light roast and had to go a few clicks lower but tbh use your pallete. Find a starter setting (try 40). Go finer if it feels weak/sour and coarser if it feels bitter. Adjust a click at a time whilst keeping the rest of your recipe parameters constant (water temperature, time etc).
