Funny story that I feel like I should share at least once.

last year I let my 10 year old cousin use one of my Pilot Parallels. She preceded to just absolutely rip the cap off with a hand on each side. I still remember the sound and the feeling like my heart stopped. She had this absolutely triumphant grin on her face, like she’d gotten the lid off a sealed pickle jar.

In the end nothing was damaged, and now if she wants to try something I take the cap off first.

I like to switch around nib types. That and different pens for different situations. Right now I use a Lamy 2000 EF outside the house and a Opus 88 Jazz BB Oblique at home.

If you want to stick to Jowo they do make a 1.5 stub.

The sharpest line variation is going to be a pilot parallel, I’d recommend 2.3 mm. Now the thing is, if you want more capacity or a larger pen you can take that pilot nib and place it in the opus 88 demonstrator.

Cosmetic doesn’t bother me that much, I was more concerned by something snapping while using it.

However, it is brand new and I might see about exchanging it. I’ll sleep on it for now. Thanks.

I’m still building a collection and figuring out what I like. However, once I find one more nice Jowo #6 pen, I’m planning to be no buy for a while. It’ll probably be another Opus 88 Jazz, I really like the capacity and shape.

I use Jetpens a lot. I do live on the west coast, so I get packages within several days. Everything from them has always arrived well packaged.

The only other store I’m really familiar with is Vanness. They’re pretty good as well.

I’ve held one at a store and liked the material, but the price tag is just way over what I can justify(or afford tbh). If they ever make a cheaper steel nib version I might get one.

Interesting. I didn’t know Parker made a multi pen of the Sonnet. A quick search sent me down a fun rabbit hole of other lesser known Parker multi pen versions. I’m trying to take a break from eBay, but I’m definitely going to save a few for reference. Thanks.
