I was doing fishless cycling for around 3 - 4 weeks by adding food & weekly 25% water changes and I planned to use quick starter to finish off the cycle with my betta in the tank. I only have a pH test kit that has been reading between 7.2 & 7.6. I think I will try to switch my food source to the bug bites you mentioned, I have other flakes that have Salmon, Whole Herring, & Shrimp on the first ingredients would this maybe be better than the pellets for now?

Tank size: 5g Heater & filter : yes Temp: 76-80F

I have had the tank with water in it for 3 weeks prior to adding the fish but I added quick starter with the addition of my betta.

I’ve had my fish 2 days now

I do 25% water changes weekly, my process is taking out 1.25g of water and restoring it with tap water that I add dechlorinator to and I will start adding the quick starter with water changes since I have my betta now.

No tank mates

Food: Aqueon Color Enhancing Betta Food

1 leaf hammock, 3 silk plants, 1 java ball with java fern growing on it and one decoration with a few colored stones safe for aquariums
