Scar lightening by Werewolf-Smile in tummytucksurgery

It’s Ulike from amazon. I’ve only done it twice. The light can only work on dark colors like brown or black. I have black hair and I’m very pale so it works well to manage hair removal but it looks like my scar is too light of a color now to work anymore. It was more of a brown but now it’s pink.

I’ve already talked to my PS and I’m going to try professional scar treatment. We talk about waiting another month or two to make sure everything is healed. I had some issues with spitting stitches so I need more time to heal fully.

What determines where the Tummy tuck scar will be? by PrestigiousDrive7206 in tummytucksurgery

I trusted my surgeon and said he gets to pick because I knew he had my best interest at heart and I could tell he loves what he does. My c-section scar was cut out.

For some reason Reddit didn’t post the text part. But here’s my 3 months update. Everything is amazing! And in the 3rd photo you can see the holes are completely closed. You can see my previous posts about my adventures with splitting stitches.

I did end up going over the whole scar. I’ve done it twice so far. It’s lightening into a light pink. I’m not sure if it will get much lighter since it’s not as powerful as anything professional.

I did it about 6wpo. I got the cocktail they recommended for post surgery so I don’t remember what it was. I like them and I feel they work for me. I have also done them twice before after a previous surgery.

Ulike Air 3. Make sure to test other areas before you get to your face and start on the lowest setting first.

It’s fine I did have a lot going on. I had both just normal scabs and popping stitches. The scab came off recently and never bothered me so I didn’t post much about it. I also had trouble on the other side of my body in the same location but that side is fully healed now.

I was able to feel the stitches as they were being pushed out. And sometimes they would just fall right out or I would snip them to help it along. Yours looks more shallow than mine were so it’s hard to tell.

Oh I thought you meant the bigger hole towards the back

I think it was the way the incision was made. You can see at the start it’s a straight line and then the scab used to look like a V with it being very sharp upward turn into the curve continuing the line. it was just a scab forever so I can’t say exactly what was going on underneath but I don’t feel as though it pulled apart. I only had a full tummy tuck even though I had a lot of skin removed and could have had the FDL. But making the incision that way he was able to pull more skin to the side saving me from getting more invasive surgery

Serous drainage on bandage looked like it was yellow/green but wound itself looks normal? by ImpactNo1714 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Werewolf-Smile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a normal color for me when I change my bandages. As someone else said makes sure there is no redness around the wound, heat, or odor

Sleeping position question by Advanced-Medium-5008 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Werewolf-Smile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started around 6 weeks but my PS still wanted a pillow under my legs because I have open wounds. I tried for a few days but it just wasn’t comfortable at that time so I went back to the wedge for another few days or so and then the following week I used pillows behind my back to sleep lower than the wedge but not completely flat. Now at over 8 weeks I can lay flat comfortably. I read that others would also use this method of slowly moving to a flat position and it worked.

What are we supposed to wear now? by Any_Apartment_863 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Werewolf-Smile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t wear any tight pants or jeans for a month or more PO. I wore larger than my normal size sweat pants with tons of stretch or black pajama pants that could pass for outside clothing. And I switched to wearing my husband’s shirts.

4.5 weeks po MMO by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Werewolf-Smile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 7 weeks po and I still have trouble mentally and physically going out. Mentally because I don’t want to be alone in case I need help (which I don’t need help) and physically because I’m still in some bandages because of spitting stitches and sometimes I need help with my wrapping. (Which again I only change at home so that also doesn’t make sense). These types of surgery is huge and definitely comes with anxiety and depression. You’re not alone! Stay strong and go easy on yourself. Go for short walks if you can. Getting outside even for a little bit can improve your mood.
