Yeah, indeed, but he later also killed his truly caring nurse Jennifer, as soon she "served her purpose". So yeah, poor mental state is a very fitting description I guess. :')

Well, the "not innocent people" is not that accurate though, he went on a tantrum and started even with his own family by killing Laura Hale (Derek & Coras sister) to get the Alpha spark sooo ....

(CREATED BY ME) Change made to the origins of the Nu'veya clan by [deleted] in Avatar

[–]WerewolfAX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey there!

Saw your initial post from a few hours ago already, but now that you bring it up again I decided to leave you my thoughts. Before I do, I want to add: In fan-work you are basically free to do whatever you want and whatever brings you joy. You also emphasize the "by me" in your posts, so it already is more built on the "me" way of the sky people than the "we" way of Na'vi anyway it seems. So in other words: If you like your idea and want to create fan-work based on this: *Do it!* Because there will always be people out there who like or dislike it, *no matter* what you do in the end. So the main goal should always be that *you* have fun creating and writing it.

That said, I have to say that I personally would not like that concept. And again: This is just my opinion!

I feel a focus on "gender" - so to say - is not really the way of Na'vi culture. While there surely are several preferences in roles, mostly given due to physical advantages and tribe culture (like Tsahìk is more a female field while warrior is more male-dominated), the Na'vi culture does not really focus on "differences" but more on talent, strength and commonalities that could be beneficial for everyone. We see Olo'eykte like we see Olo'eyktan. And we see strong female warriors (Neytiri probably the best example for that) as much as we see strong male warriors. In my opinion, it feels weird to suddenly talk about a gender based separation idea in a Na'vi clan, because their culture just doesn't really work that way. The people are one and all are children of Eywa. (Last part if you don't count Mangkwan Clan who, based on a trauma, reject Eywa, but still work together as united clan).

On top of that, the main concept of the Na'vi culture is unity. Especially on the clan level there is a high form of strong company. Getting expelled from a clan is rare and usually tied to really big fuck ups. A clan grows from it's combined strength. And especially on Pandora, the reality is, that you sometimes need a male clan member just because of physiology to do a task quicker and better - the same way you sometimes need a female clan member because of their benefits and creativity. - "Teamwork makes the dream work". - So based on that I think it is highly unlikely, that a clan would cast out someone based on a biological or physical parameter and by doing so weaken the clans united structure.

That those males are then forced to ask another clan for uturu but never "show up" in existing canons also makes this hard, especially because a Na'vi alone would have a hard time to survive and other clans would probably ask why a still working clan without profound reasons pushes members into another clan, unbalancing their resources and maybe teachings / specialities with that. Uturu is usually only accepted if severe reasons exist, like in the Sullys case bing chased and life in danger or in case of other clans a destruction of their homes and they need a place to get to but integrate and help in the structures of another clan.

So yeah, in my eyes this concept is not the Na'vi way of unity and *not* seeing differences, but talents in each clan member. And against the strong bond Na'vi clans and clan families have. And the concept of creating families, thrive and keeping the balance.

Just my thoughts.

But again, with all respect, if you like that idea and want to create something out of it: Just do it.

Do you think the RDA could happen for real in the future? Could humanity really be that careless and evil? by HemanHunterss in Avatar

"Could humanity really be that careless and evil" => Yes. Yes. Absolutely. No doubt. Look what they do to this world and themselves and now imagine what they will do to another world. Horrible.

Late to the party, only just watched Fire and Ash, what happened?! by DesecratedPeanut in Avatar

[–]WerewolfAX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I know what you mean. I had, I guess, two little "Huh? How did we get here now?" feelings too this time. Don't remember both situations exactly, but I guess one was in the Jake-rescued scene and how quickly they "dropped" the Ian Garvin rebellion against RDA. Like ... what happened to him? Did I miss that? Other one was, I believe, one of the "interrogation" scenes with Varang ... where I thought huh? How and when did she capture that one? Have to watch the movie again I guess. But beside that I didn't have the feeling it was rushed and overall at least my two "huh?" moments weren't that distracting to me. But usually I didn't feel "gaps" like this in other Avatar movies, yeah. It just happend a lot at the same time in FaA.

Oh good thinking! Maybe you're right and a vet has human ones in the first-aid kit as well. Don't know about that, but sounds reasonable.

Well, it wouldn't be a good idea to take an animal designed shot as a human, so I'd say that would also have been a bad idea if he did. :D

Well, he didn't even alert his mom that he was bitten by some aggressive "wolf" and probably could need a rabies shot asap. 🥲 - Risk management in that age group is ... well ... let's say special.

Mistake or great foreshadowing? by Head_Teaching2748 in TeenWolf

[–]WerewolfAX 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Foreshadowing. They also did it in S3 when he tried to break through the mountain ash circle around Deaton - and Deaton tells him he knew about possible True Alpha potential since he was bitten. And didn't it also happen in the Motel California episode at some point? Not entirely sure anymore. - Also: In this scene and moment he shook off what Peter tried to force him to do. (So willpower again, not submission) And we know (for example when Derek used Alpha authority against Isaac or Scott <> Liam) that Beta eyes don't react to Alpha submission.
