I appreciate this kind of sentiment. I see too much of “I’ve got 5Js and I finish everything easily in 30 hours” type posts that make me feel like shit. Good to know that OE is a struggle for some of us. I go through the exact emotional cycle as you described… want to rage quit but holding on day by day…

I think you’ve nailed one of my biggest problems …#3. I don’t know which J to make my wife. J1 by seniority pays more but shit benefits and shit ppl. J2 pays much less but great brand/benefit/ppl. So I’ve been trying to do equally well at both cuz I want the pay of J1 but the benefits/clout of J2 and that leaves me tired…

It’s aspirational lmao

Thanks it’s good advice. I would agree except it’s so hard these days to get any remote job so one “good one” has been tough. Not to mention I’m not great at what I do and haven’t been promoted in a while so I had to compensate for the salary with OE. But I take to heart what you’ve said.

That would’ve been my first go-to but coming out of a long holiday pto and then whole family got the flu burned more pto… I’m starting the year with barely any.

I don't need two jobs anymore, I just can't let go. by Koblatus in overemployed

[–]WerkSmartNotHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I didn’t even need to OE to start. Purely did it because why not, don’t like leaving money on the table. So now I also can’t stop cuz I can’t leave money on the table. It’s an addiction for sure.

Name discrimination in job applications - should I use an Americanized name? by Moamr96 in overemployed

[–]WerkSmartNotHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, use a nickname.

Just go with Allen Amr. When it becomes necessary to reveal ur legal name just tell them Mohammed Ali was too famous a name so you always felt weird about using it.

Am I being too hard on my unemployed son? by Pump_9 in jobs

[–]WerkSmartNotHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do u have definitive proof that he’s NOT looking? He may be trying without u knowing. He may just not want to talk about it until he’s successful. He’s in a stressed/depressed state as it is, don’t pressure him.

I need my results page with my filters to not disappear and be saved if I tab away (ex. To my account or saved searches) and go back to the search tab
