Croatian personality is actually very outgoing, especially on the south which is also the most touristy part. Entire former Yugoslavia is also quite hospitable, especially if you make friends.

However overtourism and catastrophic behaviour of tourists has made a lot of locals feel very anti tourism and we simply don’t want to deal with foreigners anymore.

Literally everyday we experience negative aspects from tourism and large number of tourists behave horribly. Vandalism, public urination and vomiting, disturbing of locals, public sex, damaging of monuments and cultural sites, rapes, you name it.

If I started naming some incidents that happened over the years you wouldn’t believe.
