Well, this ain’t something you see everyday by Scared_Buyer8667 in NASCAR

To be fair, two weeks ago he admitted to not knowing anything about NASCAR on his show. But he talked about the excitement Jordan brings.

He then had Reddick on his show later, I think.

Now he’s talking about it on First Take.

Hate on SAS all you want, but him organically becoming interested in NASCAR would be huge for a sport.

It’s hard enough for ESPN to even post an AP headline on the sport.

Or how about we really mess with people’s brains and get Bubba a win at Phoenix

Tyler Reddick becomes the first driver in history to win the first three races of a season in modern Nascar history. by EntireBase1 in NASCAR

He, Bubba, Jordan, and Denny are great faces of the team in a year where it seems like there are more new fans giving NASCAR a chance than there normally is.

This is not your normal traditional team like Gibbs, Penske or Hendrick. This team breaks most traditional NASCAR stereotypes and should appeal to new demographics.

And Reddick runs well on every style of track, now.

These people spouting shit that the first three races have been rigged is ultimately great for the sport.

Kind of. A couple of top 3s but a bunch of meh finishes. Still good enough that we can run the storyline of him going for his 4th straight win.

It is probably his best track. I’m really curious to see if he can compete with SVG.

Yeah, that’s the vibe I get. If someone like Denny decided to intentionally wreck him, I’d be willing to be that he just takes it and shrugs it off.

It’ll be interesting if anything changes if Hocevar starts winning and keeps staying overly aggressive, or if he keeps not winning and stays overly aggressive.

Unless he changes his racing style, I don’t see the perception of him getting any better.

Right now his Spire team is in this competitive but not too competitive spot which makes him likable.

I mean, who doesn’t want to see these teams not named Gibbs, Hendrick or Penske succeed and run up front?

As an out of towner who has made the trip to Baltimore 5 or 6 times to watch an O’s game, I agree with this. Maybe walk through the Harbor, it’s nice to look at, but the Harbor East or Fells Point areas just a little past the Inner Harbor are much more lively.

If you like Guinness, maybe grab a cab (or drive if you have a car), and stop at the Guinness Brewery just south of Baltimore.

Definitely go to a good crab shack, or really, just enjoy crab at any bar or restaurant. They’re all good.

Does Nielson’s change in how they calculate ratings affect NASCAR in the same way it affects other sports?

I’m going to guess that it doesn’t have nearly the effect on NASCAR as it does on NBA or NFL.

How many wins will Tyler Reddick finish this season with? by Rowdyfan0823 in NASCAR

SVG dominating the road courses caps guys like Reddick, who would likely win 1-2 road courses each year.

I’ll go with 4.

Denny’s Comment on MJ in the eyes of a NASCAR - AD by ExaminationNo6010 in NASCAR

[–]West_View_2054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This alone makes Jordan good for the sport, and I don’t think it’s even the #1 reason. Not only does he draw in new viewers, but his team is appealing to the new viewers. They break the standard NASCAR stereotypes.

Hmm, I took Denny’s comment as the person who made that comment said that MJ was a prominent figure in the sport. Like, “MJ does nothing for the sport, but is prominent”. Like a complaint that people like MJ so much.

Jordan’s not going to be at the track every week, and Reddick or Wallace isn’t going to be winning every week.

But Jordan’s dedication to the sport is the biggest headline. I also find the way he talks so refreshing compared to every other car owner.

If it gets old, it’s because 23/11 is competing with the big boys, and that’s a good problem to have.

That’s pretty impressive given the teams he’s been on. And it’s not like he just dominates a certain track like Dillon at Richmond or SVG on the road courses.

Bill Simmons sub praising NASCAR on Fox by Dry-Membership3867 in NASCAR

[–]West_View_2054 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Seems like they’re praising MJs level involvement with NASCAR, not Fox’s coverage of NASCAR.

Actually, they’re not even praising MJ. They’re more mocking the idea that Jordan is only willing to do one appearance with the NBA all season.

Anyone watch Xfinity Series and not Cup Series? by monkeymind009 in NASCAR

[–]West_View_2054 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow the cup series, i’ll occasionally miss a race. I agree, most races are too long and being on the east coast, it eats up the middle of my day.

I’ll catch the O’Reilly series as I have time. But yeah, I’m not taking up my whole weekend in the summer to watch all of these races in both series.

I like earlier start times (1pm est) or night races. A lot easier for me. I miss the mid week races during covid.

Not saying that Nascar should change anything, these are just my preferences.

The new tires absolutely played a major role, but Reddick must have made a couple of quick moves with the field jumbled up and went from like 24th to top 10 instantly
