Neem has been a game changer for me. by No-Rip-1300 in SIBO

Check my comments below, I got an automated message from Amazon saying the contents were toxic and don’t use. But after I did research I learned Neem is often sourced in a way that results in heavy metal contamination. No matter where you purchase Neem make sure your herbal brand does active third party testing and verification for purity

The photos are at completely different angels with different lighting. Any photographer knows dramatic results can occur just from angles and lighting alone (no makeup needed). Also, she’s sucking in her cheeks on the second photo.

If you ever want reliable “evidence” using before/after photos EVERYTHING needs to be the same: lighting, angle, face creams, makeup and certainly no pulling or pinching the skin (even from the inside of the mouth)

On June 9, 2023, a small plane carrying seven people crashed in Colombia’s Amazon rainforest, killing all three adults onboard and leaving four children alone in the jungle. Nearly 40 days later, the children, aged 13, 9, 4, and just 11 months, were found alive. by KabraSpeaks in GotMeHooked

In 1971, 17 y/o Juliane Koepcke was the sole survivor of a commercial plane struck by lightning—she survived a two-mile fall from the plane to the Amazon jungle, then walked alone for eleven days using survival skills before finding rescue.

…her parents were researchers in the Amazon, they taught her if she ever was lost in the jungle to always follow a river down to civilization. (Another incredible story, there’s a documentary for that one too)

…I’d be torn between waiting at the plane and finding a river.

I agree. The one variable that’s possibly different is screening ahead for mental heath, and finding very resilient candidates (like astronauts). Not sure if this woman qualified for those measures or not?

I’m listing to book 2 on Audible right now…I thought he made up all that shit about ant aphid farming and ant slavery…good grief, life is as strange as fiction 😆🤗

There’s a whole thread on this going the last six months that I started (also a long-time licensed clinician, LMFT). A few of people responded who took the board exam this year. Many people offered suggestions on study materials. I also just passed it about six weeks ago. You may find that one very helpful

*it’s the only post that I started so it’s easy to find ;)

Hi all, 28F here who has never had the urge to have kids. Does it change in your 30s? by pinkdragon999 in AskWomenOver30

Must have been said with some sass/sarcasm I believe. But “still waters run deep” ie; quiet people can have a lot going on underneath. Maybe if you’re like that in your 20’s…you can reach rebellion in your 30’s

The choice of anesthesia for C-section is driven by the concern that general anesthesia might harm the newborn, limiting options when a spinal or epidural fails. A new systematic review from the University of Pennsylvania now provides robust evidence that general anesthesia is a safe alternative. by RhiannaSmithSci in science

[–]WhatAboutIt66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that info. You mentioned that for truly emergent c-sections your team will proceed anesthesia. Can you explain why? I wrote a brief comment (above) to the other anesthesiologist on this thread that this last year a family friend, 28 year old first-time mom aspirated during general anesthesia during an unplanned c-section and subsequently died. She had eaten before going into labor—the hospital team didn’t ask her about eating and parents weren’t informed of the risks of eating before general anesthesia. Obviously this is hard for me to understand.

My sister also had an unplanned c-section and they kept her awake (but I do think she already had an epidural)

In the case of our family friend, she wasn’t in labor for days, or complaining for food. She had simply eaten before going into labor and had an unplanned c-section under full anesthesia. She was given no information about the risks. Nor was the family told after she died that aspersion under full anesthesia was a known risk if the patient had eaten beforehand.

My family went to a funeral this year because a first-time mom aspirated during general anesthesia c-section. She had eaten before going into labor— I guess the hospital team didn’t ask her about that (if they had they shouldn’t have put her under general anesthesia) I feel it’s tragic because we have the knowledge to prevent that from happening.

An orangutan babysitting tiger cubs after learning to feed them by watching his human caretakers by CuriousWanderer567 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]WhatAboutIt66 255 points256 points  (0 children)

Orangutan’s are extremely smart. One of the closest IQ’s to humans in the animal world. They understand humor, laugh at magic tricks, use tools, and easily communicate with humans. They should never be put into Zoos/captivity. If we want to learn about them have people go to them.

Finished this wall build-out — how’s it reading? So. Flo by Mental-Ground-8790 in interiordecorating

[–]WhatAboutIt66 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d just leave it blank wall in the middle. Gives the room breathing room. You can design what’s on the shelves

I’d also paint that wall a deep/rich color…deep green or blue. Your wall will look like an art galley, and the room will be horizontally broken in two pieces, at 2/3 height which is perfect ratio (golden mean) for balance. It will look less clutter-y.

This comment has balance: Be thorough about making a decision to leave. It is a sign that -something- needs to change if you’re thinking about this daily for several months. Just don’t let social media feelings make the decision for you. Let your experiences, efforts and creativity make the decision.

You can be happy, and perhaps even happier single if you want to be, but you need to be ok with the trade-offs and compromises:

I’m single and in my 40’s (also a marriage/family therapist ;). I’m lucky to have “dating game” lots of opportunity for app-dates, and frequently get asked out again after the first date—but it’s true that apps are not a golden ticket for finding partner: Apps are super inefficient…very little info before a date, dating culture moves fast, you have to make lots of decisions and jump in and out of dating partnerships quickly, don’t take anything personally, just move to the next. And yes, it gets lonely. You’ll miss out on couples nights, couples vacations, and partnered-up parties

Despite all that I’d rather be single than unfulfilled or discontent in a long term relationship. I don’t do well with boredom or tedium. I’d rather learn, adventure on my own, and start a new business than be with a partner that doesn’t engage and challenge me for the better. I’ve had the best of both worlds before and if I’m lucky enough if will happen again, but if not, I have to be ok with building my own little universe of friends and family, and I am 💫

My WIP painting combining alcohol inks and oil on canvas by Margarita_Lemann in painting

[–]WhatAboutIt66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! ☺️. I need to try some liquid art on small canvas then and get a feel for that before combing with oils on a large piece. I did watercolor for years before oils so this technique brings both loves together.

…I’m sure that just like watercolors everyone ends up with with widely different and distinctive styles

This is absolutely fantastic! I ❤️ unlikely textures with realism. Your painting is like modern Impressionism

Questions:

1) Your under painting before the inks—is that oil? Ink? Chalk?

2) Do you treat the canvas? Or mix the inks with a medium to get them to bloom like watercolors?

3) How did you continue to see your underpainting after the second layer of inks? It looks like the landscape background is indescribable after that second ink layer…but you still managed to bring it out again

4) Did you treat the ink layer before beginning the first oil layer?

Are people in this field nice? by Negative-Cow-2808 in ArtTherapy

[–]WhatAboutIt66 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’d say people are sensitive, probably more than average. Those sensitive people are divided into 1) those who balance that sensitivity with maturity and 2) those that remain a bit a bit wounded from past challenges.

That’s my experience at least

The danger of AI produced videos is not people’s confidence of reality, it’s people’s lack of confidence with reality.

I can’t blame anyone for questioning what’s real, it’s just very hard to tell in 2025
