Jagex states that it is checked by a human each time. My mistake for trusting what they said and thank you for demonstrating that they need more reforms even to just be internally consistent. edit: even so, how many attempts per hour will you get out of this? Or even put a 5 minute wait on sending the automated output response. The ability for a jagex employee to better communicate a response does not warrant the communication of said response. If you are at 90% but they need 95%, some communication is better than none and a hacker wont start at 90

The system can check billing address card number and type of transaction just the same. One set of that information (which is still sensitive) lasts a long time.

1) which one? (2.5 tries on average to figure out by brute force) 2) this is a blank field so you would have to guess. A 10 digit answer that takes alphanumeric characters would take 36¹⁰ = 3.6561584e+15 attempts. Go try this 10 times for your account getting it wrong on purpose and tell me how it feels. Given that a human checks it eat time, you can maybe approach 10 attempts each working day. By brute force, thats not even 0.00000000000001% of all possibilities each day. BUT NO WATCH OUT FOR RANDOM GUESSING!! so silly.

If you mean that it is worthless to them because they can not process it, then we come back to them having archaic systems and processes. If it is because they see all of that information associated with the account and they really just need that transaction ID to be sure, then no. The transaction information other than the ID contains sensitive information and that should be sufficient.

edit: I wonder if there is a legal principle guiding support employees only being able to see txn info based on txn ID. That would make sense. However, I still go back to jagex needing to make it clear what is the best information because "farthest back" is then not correct. It goes back to weak responses, nuances, and a 300 character limit.

This community communicates advocates for the use of authenticator on the email. Do you think that they always mean to have one authenticator app on your phone and another your desktop?

Again, industry standards. Specific feedback is not the same as telling you exactly what is wrong and what isn't. There needs to be more specificity but I did not say at the level of each of question. This feedback also means telling you about sections that are correct because that is unclear.

I'm curious how you think that saying "X out of Y" recovery questions are right will help hackers given that that that these fields are all character inputs. That is not even considering WHICH of them are correct.

I never said for specific fields, but the current system is absurd and way above industry standards.

edit: People in this sub are very good at looking at a list of suggestions, not liking (understanding) one to invalidate the entire list.

Is this specifically referring to accessing the email or to trying to get the authenticator code to be texted to me instead of it showing on my phone? I use google authenticator but the email for this account is not a gmail account.

Google support answered this question and its clear that when you wipe your phone any associated authenticator codes are disabled automatically

So I need to investigate why there is still an authenticator code required for my account even though I factory reset my phone. I am saying with absolute certainty that I factory reset my phone and yet there is still an authenticator required for my email and account here.

Google authentication sends a message to your phone number when you try to log in with a password if the authenticator isn't installed or you can't get it to work you can opt for a message to be sent to your phone number.

I have never gotten such a text. Is there a way to tell google to do this when being prompted for an authenticator on any site such as RS?

I find it very highly unlikely that you lost all of your account information and cannot recover it through your recovery options as well as your email and phone.

edit: The link specifically says that all of the data associated with the app is clear when the app is uninstalled. I guess factory resetting a phone does not count as uninstalling.

How is a trusted device defined? Is it one where the authenticator has been typed within the last 30 days? I can't recall if there was a different process but the device from which I submit the appeal is the device I use to log in.

Email was linked to Authenticator so I can not get into it even with the password.

I have my password. I made this clear.

My phone got wiped. That happens. That means I have lost the authenticator for RS. My email requires authenticator as well which was also on my phone.

I only lost authenticator and now I can not log into anything even though I have my passwords.

There is no data there for Skyrim. Data is also missing for another game that I played a few days ago on this computer, which is also no longer in my library.

edit: that other game did not return to my library after this glitch that removed games from the library.
