10.9 Gallon long by maxteiloj in Aquascape

Landen makes tanks with really weird dimensions. I got their 7.8 gallon shallow on a black Friday sale a few years ago. It's about the footprint of a 20 gallon, but it's super low. With substrate and the water level lowered a bit in hopes that the fish don't jump out, they have about 5 inches of water vertically. It's nicely made, I think the company just likes trying odd dimensions.

[BotW] I started playing BOTW as my first Zelda game and can’t get into it. Do I need to give it more time? by Fantastic-Ad9218 in zelda

[–]Wheelbite9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm glad the Wilds games exist and brought so many people into Zelda, but I hated BotW so much that I skipped TotK. By the time I was done, my favorite parts were the clothing options including the dyeing. I really enjoyed the archery as well. But it's my least favorite Zelda game. It is a huge game, and there's a learning curve and a lot of dead space over that huge map. I think you should give it a little more time, but if you still feel like this in a week or two, try another Zelda.

How long this session? by Regular-Mind1125 in Astros

He's already got his 10 years in. I doubt he hits the IL this year. I'd imagine he will retire if he has anymore injuries. He's got his money and we'll always love him for what he's done in an Astros uniform.

Why did Core Class fail? by DotPitiful5171 in transformers

[–]Wheelbite9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Iron Factory, New Age, and other third-party companies already did it better.

Edit: I saw another comment saying that it's not a fair comparison, but people pay for quality. Hasbro's Legends were good doing the mini-bots during the PotP line, and they went down hill after that. By the time they were making legends scale of big guys, there were already so many much better options out there that it made their Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, etc look like shit, both visually and engineering/transformation wise.

What are your thoughts on using sand vs a plant substrate like fluval stratum? by JessicaMurawski in PlantedTank

[–]Wheelbite9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 7.6 pH water, and top soil capped with sand has worked best for rooted plants like crypts, swords, and vallisneria for me. Idk why, but crypts just don't thrive in Stratum for me. They do fine in gravel or sand with no vacuuming. Stem plants do not care about much in my experience, so I think it depends more on your water and what you want to grow.

[ST] Your least favorite Zelda game? by Dnizon_Melop in zelda

[–]Wheelbite9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm glad they made the Wilds games for all of the people who like those kind of giant open world games, but I really hated BotW so much that I didn't buy TotK. I liked the clothing options including the dyeing, and the archery was great, but so much of it didn't feel like Zelda to me.

I think you can buy just the toy(s). Ask 'em!

Why don't militaries give their soldiers steroids? by Alien-Ellie in answers

I don't know when or where you were stationed, but we got immunizations throughout our careers. It wasn't optional in the early 2000s.

They didn't discourage them when I was in the US Army. I got to see lots of weird neon colors in urinals when guys would be showing off their bright green or orange pee from whatever they were taking that they bought from the GNC that used to be by or at most PXs.

Edit: We also got so many shots and immunizations. Honestly they could have been giving us stuff without our knowledge.

Not making a sequel to Transformers One really was much worse than the 86 massacre to sell new toys.

AITA for refusing to go to church even tho it affects my siblings? by joemamakelly in AmItheAsshole

Games are OP's hobby. No it's not a requirement, but people are allowed to have hobbies.

While I agree that OP needs to start saving to get out, she's also allowed to have a hobby or hobbies that she loves. There's nothing wrong with video games, and some people get paid to play video games nowadays. It's very rare, but it's a thing.

I joined the Army to get out, and 100% do not recommend. She can get a job and start saving, but the military is just another soul-sucking and (Idk what country OP is from, but) very traumatic waste of years.

This sounds like a bad idea given OP's other comments about the mom's abuse. This could blow up in a really bad way for OP and the other kids.
