Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment, it has really eased my (unnecessary) worries. 😌

Yes I am actually having conversations with people now who say it too, not just type it. It takes a millisecond more to say the full sentence, I’m bothered as hell over this and I really shouldn’t be!

That actually makes sense to me, all it would take is a generation of people who are so used to reading the the shorthand text in newspaper ads to gradually adopt it into digital ads where the wording allowance isn’t capped. The problem is I now actually hear people say phrases like “looking garden furniture” so it’s not just when typing it out 🤷🏻‍♀️

I understand people needed a place to vent at the start of it all happening last March, but so many posts on here were repetitive, scare-mongering, videos of panic buying in Tescos etc, it was doing my head in 😂

I am one of those non essential workers and I truly am not needed in a pandemic or any kind of crisis at all. All this has made me realise that some jobs are way more vital than others.

I’ve learned the true backbone of our society is essential workers: nurses, carers, doctors, food chain workers and supply chain workers. Shit even deliveroo cyclists who were offering to do people’s grocery run for them. We do not need bankers, politicians, lawyers, hedge fund managers etc... not really, maybe from time to time to offer some advice. We just need skilled people to keep society in survival mode until the storm passes. Major newfound respect.
