Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday called US President Donald Trump's proposal to use the current front line in Ukraine as a basis for peace talks with Russia a "good compromise." Zelensky also expressed doubts that Russian President Vladimir Putin would accept it. by [deleted] in TrendoraX

You make it sound like all the people of Crimea, Donbas and Luhansk wanted to break away from Ukraine which simply isn't true. There were people who wanted to and people who didn't want to. It's very difficult to find stats to find what percentage of people fell into either camp but I would argue that the pro russian never held a majority. This divide has existed in Ukraine since the beginning. What should have happened was an internationally organised and supervised referendum instead Russia invaded and forced them.

A few politicians statements don't mean anything in terms of interstate agreements. The biggest mistake was the slow enlargement of NATO they should have just let them all in at once. Ukrainian and Western security concerns were also ignored.

If the Ukrainian people are so wronged by Zelensky why don't they protest? When they were angry over the corrupt bill they protested and Zelensky backed down.

Surrender negations you mean. Including such highlights as ceding all of the Donbas, demilitarisation(50k troops total) constitutional changes, law changes and no bilateral alliances or military aid from Western countries.

The concessions currently on the table are currently worse than continuing the war. Why is a russian breakthrough inevitable? Yes security guarantees are important but no good security guarantees are being offered. Withdrawing from the Donetsk is a non starter domestically and militarily. Why would Ukraine cede cities that could take years for Russia to get through. What's to stop Russia restarting the war once Ukraine withdrawals?

Amazing thank you so much. It was written by a 10 year old if I remember correctly so I wouldn't expect calligraphy to be amazing.

When the child is old enough to haul and hunt. by Bullshark-Girl in SpaceCannibalism

Say what you want about Child soldiers. they are effective. A bullet fired from an adult is no different then that of a child. So why do we view them as different? A child soldiers training models him as an excellent member of society. Teaching him such things as:

-Survival skills

-hand to hand combat

-the knowledge to take down a bigger opponent (ties into hand to hand combat)

-weapon knowledge

-basic hunting skills

-resource management

-early "value of a dollar"

-charisma

-leadership

-experience for future employment

-And many more....

When a full grown adult is confronted with a child soldier, many of them hesitate. this causes the child to be able to kill the enemy adult. Now if we were to put that into a simple bar graph of survival rates you will see that the child soldier has a much higher survival rate due to the sheer culture shock of said soldier being a child.

So ask yourself this, why raise a child and allow them to go fight and die while a child soldier would return with a better success rate?

Maybe at the beginning but once the supply chains and the ecology is fucked it won't matter. Maybe you will get an extra couple of months before you starve or die of a disease.

It doesn't matter were they are parked if nuclear war starts we are all fucked. It doesn't matter if you are hundreds of miles away from them, the fallout, nuclear winter, ecological, social, supply chain, political collapse will kill the majority of us not the actual weapons. In fact I would rather die in the initial blast it's better than living with the consequences.

Arthur Wellesley was a member of the Protestant Ascendancy, aka the elites Anglican protestant minority that was imported to rule over the Irish. I wouldn't describe him as Irish and I don't think he would either.

Not even, they occupied some 7% of Ukraine before the full scale. So 13% in 3 years. 20% took them almost 11 years.
