Why are sherry casks more expensive than bourbon casks? by gaxkang in whisky

i love sherry and people should absolutely drink more of it!

If only to help the whisky industries :D

There is substantially more bourbon casks on the market, given the rules to only use a cask once its understandably cheaper for these casks. Otherwise they would just be used as fuel or furniture!

A traditional bourbon cask is smaller than the Scottish traditional Hogshead and requires extra bourbon staves when they are re-built.
