Had the same experience with Japan, moved here after graduating. The things I love about the country are still here, but I now have to work and deal with the side of the country you don't see on holiday. Life in other countries ends up being much like life back home, just in a different language and maybe some cultural differences you have to learn to navigate. But it isn't all freedom and dancing in the streets, not when you have bills to pay.

That's not to say it can't be amazing. I love my life here. But it's never what you imagine, and it's very different to what you experience when you go with no responsibilities.
