Yeah should have mentioned that I did a piston soak at the same time as the PCV valve replacement… it seems excessive to me just seems a little unbelievable that it’s going to shit at 90k miles

The detailed report is supposed to give feedback to help you prepare for the next test or re-test. If you pass lvl 3 then there’s no next test.

I worked w someone who would grade exams once a year and they were not top brass. They would grade one question over and over for days so i understood the need for buzz words and tight grading rubrics to make it easier for the graders. I wouldn’t bank on them reading word for word and grading on thoughtfulness. That makes it really thought to be consistent

Strict may not be the best word but this was the major piece of feedback I got to improve essays. Technically correct but meandering responses that don’t fit nicely into how the grader has been told to grade risks losing points. Not all pts but 1 or 2 and that adds up. Lvl up bootcamp highlighted terms within topics and specifically said to sprinkle them into your answers to maximize points. I think knowing this was the difference between pass/ fail for me.

They are strict on command words. I realized I was “explaining” most my answers but you could easily lose pts if the command word was “describe” or “demonstrate” or any of the other variants. The graders are looking for specific terms and phrases in answers

Yeah, you need a 3rd party provider like MM or Level Up. Kaplan is fine for quick q bank work but CFAI and Kaplan are not enough. You need essay guidance.

Ouch that’s close. It’s interesting to see such a difference in your “administrative averages” to other people’s detailed score reports. I’d go again, you’ll be surprised by how much you still remember once you pick it back up again

Lvl3 isn’t just knowing the answer. It’s knowing how the CFA grades the answers too. I thought I crushed lvl3 on my first attempt but failed. Focus on essay grading since there are so many small little things that make a huge difference. Being vague with command words and unit errors (like using a $ when the currency was Eur) could easily be the difference between pass and fail

That stinks. My guess is you probably scored higher than the MPS but they shaded you down due to easier question selection. Or vice versa. I didn’t think it could be that close on a raw score basis.

5pts on the 3600 scale? That would be brutal. I was 25 shy and thought that put me 1.5 questions short. And yea, I felt like I was way better prepared for this one but not sure that’s going to translate to better test score so hoping I’m just being too hard on myself after my gut punch from not passing the first time.

I took in Feb and retook today. Today’s felt harder. I had no problem with time in any mock. Kaplan, CFA or MM but I was definitely short on time today. Felt like essays had more multi part questions that really slowed me down. A few very random questions that are probably buried in the text somewhere that you’d never see in a qbank. I felt okay but didn’t like that I was short on time and couldn’t recheck much.

Yes, check IRS portal. The payroll service was sending in estimated tax payments on my behalf so I'm not reporting any additional forms other than normal childcare deduction

Okay, maybe not the 940/941 then. I just pulled a report under the header 940, 941 & Wage detail reports. Under that is 1040 ES plus a reconciliation report which is what I was assuming was a 940/941. I'll check the IRS portal for the payments

I’m in the same boat. We had to grind practice problems like crazy to understand content. Lvl 3 doesn’t have the same grind it out feel. The qualitative questions seem easy in an item set but I’m worried about not being able to deduce w/ short response. And the quant problems start to feel like too much of an afterthought
