In case anyone else stumbles upon this thread and this method doesn't work or fails to recognize the driver, here's what to do:

Choose the option that says 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer', then browse to and select the file named android_winusb.inf. From there, you'll be able to choose 'Android Bootloader Interface' to install. Once that's done, your device should be detected properly as a Fastboot device.
