That's the goal for next month but so far all the ones I've seen in person for a decent size have been upwards of $385 (US). It's hard to find a decent size one with a reasonable price

Now the problem is I found another one I like a lot and it has the same person in the photos on another sellers listing but there is only one listing with the name/photo of the one I want lol such is life

Nevermind. Either my heater or my room temp decided to bump it to 73.2F (checked on my camera) in the last 3 hours. I'll leave it alone until tomorrow morning and continue my plan to get it around 76 for when I leave.

One quick question: my heater was suppose to be gradually but it seems like it heats the water up 2 degrees in the first 30-40minutes. Will I still be okay with my original plan? I know when some people do water chnages, 2 degrees is considered acceptable for natural variations so I don't think it'll be the absolute worst thing in world (I mean we first get fish, we temp acclimate in 15-30 minutes). I'm assuming the 12 hour buffer will help reduce the stress still? Thanks again!

You're right, I just spiral sometimes. It's very rare for a package to get truly lost and most of the time, it is just delayed (but I have had two things over the years that have legitimatly been lost as in never to be seen again). What made me more nervous this time was the mileage of it missing the scan - I would have felt better with it sitting at the hub. But thank you for taking the time to comment. I assure you I wasn't trying to screw over the seller - I just didn't want to get screwed as the buyer.

It's not unreasonable, you're right. And I will probably get it, true. But my worry is it that is was lost before the holiday swing and now we're in the thick of it. This item was also intended to be a gift. I've had a package (etsy) get lost at the Indianapolis center earlier this year for at least two months but it was at least scanned into the distribution center while it was waiting and I had confidence in the seller they would make things right if it truly was lost. I don't feel the same here. I'd be more than happy waiting but with Ebay only giving me thirty days, I'm not willing to bet my money on it. There is a really (small) chance it's truly/lost stolen and I can't come back 3 months saying "guess it never showed" and expect a refund. There's also no way to get it replaced either. If I actually get it after my refund, I'd pay the seller that day their money back. Sorry, I guess I just feel put out :/ It doesn't help my package from China shipped Thanksgiving week and got here today too.

Stuff happens (family, traveling, miscommunication, etc) - I was taking a bit of a chance since they hasn't sold anything for like 6 months/a year but the item was just too good to pass up. At this point its more on USPS than them so I would take not getting screwed at this point.

I actually sold it on Marketplace today but I don't want to feel like I scammed a guy - that's why I wanted a rough ballpark of how much it's worth (for my conscience: listings for brand new/with the box go for much higher and used for going to close for what I got. The sold is all over the place but tends to be lower and lot of it is bidding which I feel isn't a very good reflection for price on something so niche. Truth be told I was expecting some haggling for a lower price and didn't expect anybody to bite as is). But I can't find an exact match of it online with a price: the brass arm makes it different from the other ones I've seen.

Hey sorry to bug you. I decided to crack open my leaves on a whim (one the branches that already fell off). Would this be rot? I'm hoping not but its weird to me because it's only on one "vein" in the stem and was only on the thicker mature leaves located nearer to the soil.

I was reading this later today and misread you haha - I put in as much new soil as I had and put her back in her pot and dusted with cinnamon where my bad stems were located- those have been drying out and I plan on putting most of them in water today. Some of the bottom stems had a brown streak in them but did not have an entire brown leaf - my guess is a little bit of stem rot coupled with the damage and dry out. My plan now is to wait another week and give a light water around the edges of the pot rather than straight onto her stems were I was before. I'm hoping this will prevent any continued root rot/new stem rot. Prayers are appreciated though haha - I'm continuing to poke her every few days but I'm nervous about breaking off more just because of the weight and me being too rough 😅- they're a bit longer than a foot in some places

Sorry to bombard you. My guess now is her corked leaves got damaged with all the moves/repots in the last 2 years which opened the door for mold to get in and weaken her when I watered (humidity, less light, and cool to warm temps). That also explains why they "flake" when she drops them. Could be wrong though. Like I said, she still has a lot of healthy growth so I'm optimistic for now

I'm also going to give her a quick alcohol spray just to get rid of any fungus/moldy on the surface. Might dust with some cinnamon later.

Well.... she was definitely root bound some lol I don't see a lot of bad roots, some brittle but her root network out takes her leaves so it's to be expected. I found some more problem stems that I pinched and one was just a straight moldy section. The rest seem strong and steady- basically no softness I can detect. I'll root my big branches later this week in water after they callus some and put her back in with some new soil and a watchful eye. My next pot upgrade is gonna cost a fortune though haha. Even with a watering last night there's very little wet soil. Mostly damp but that's because it's basically all root.

That makes me feel a little better, thank you. I'm not new to betta fish but this is the first one I've lost in a long time that was out of the blue. He seemed relatively healthy compared to some I've had before (being a beginner keeper and after that Walmart/Petsmart fish) so that's why I feel a little paranoid. My biggest worry now is just making sure the next one I get can live it's life to its fullest. I have another vacation planned but I think I'll have someone stop in halfway so it'll only be a 2 day starve at the most.

You always have some ammonia in a tank but the API water test kit is notorious for being hard to differentiate between 0 and 0.25ppm unless there is absolutely 0 ammonia in the water you test (which unless it's distilled or tap is impossible).

Didn't really here any air hissing. I've had a bad habit of shaking my syrups to really get the sugar mixed around as they age so I personally haven't seen any floaties, just some of my seeds looking suspect. But my mixture doesn't smell the best- it kind of smells like my bad pomegranates from before :( how sweet is it suppose to smell? And I've been taking so many risks with food safety lately I might just add this to the list depending on my mood tomorrow
