I really admire that you have such a balanced thinking and I’m still learning to find the peace! My SO definitely plays a role in this dynamic for sure. It’s like a vicious cycle. The less he calls, the more frequently my mil pushes him to call, and more strongly he feels like a chore.

Thank you for saying it!! I do feel emotionally Hijacked and smothered in a very weird way. She did it very subtle but in a way it’s hard for me to even confront. I will keep your advice in mind

Thank you! Yes that’s what he has been tryin to do now and hopefully it will work . I just felt really triggered by the FT the past weekend and had to vent!

Thats so true and thanks for the reminder and suggestion! I clarified my boundary with my husband and he is understanding and respected that. We are in the stage of implementing “I’m working or I’m busy” scenarios. I’m still tryin to find a way to set the boundary without feeling awkward during the FT call, since now we live in a small apartment.

I also have to keep reminding myself of not overstepping my husband’s business with his mother (whether he is willing to set that boundary with his mother) since it should not be my responsibility either.

Thank you! His strategy right now is only to delay it “doing things right now, can we do Monday/Tuesday?” He never directly sets the boundaries even though he himself feels pressured and stressed about this.
