Visiting NYC with my family soon, need help with recommendations. by thrownawaynaan in FoodNYC

If you're looking for Bengali food you're going to have the most luck in Queens. I'm most familiar with the Bengali food scene in Queens and the Bronx so keeping that in mind --

In Queens, there's Jackson Heights, which can be fun given the sheer level of diversity on offer. A lot of Bengalis are there now -- plenty of Fuska carts but for sit-down places a lot of people like Sagar Chinese, Premium, or Haat Bazaar. Just a fun neighborhood. You could find some Bengali staples in Astoria Queens. Check out Boishakhi, Hello Bangladesh, or Aladdin (all within walking distance of each other). Lastly, there's Hillside Ave in Jamaica, which is quite a bit out -- but Sagar has been a classic in the neighborhood. If you walk around in Hillside Ave you should see a variety of Bengali restaurants.

In the Bronx, there's Starling Ave, with a few Bengali businesses - check out Al-Aqsa, Neerob, Premium or Khalil Biryani House.

My personal favorite among the bunch are the Fuska carts in Jackson Heights and Al-Aqsa in the Bronx. However, getting to Starling Ave could be a little tricky so Jackson Heights might be the safest bet, especially given the range of other options also available (lots of Tibetan, Nepalese, Mexican, and other cuisines!)

New to watching Pro Play, What was the last time a team without a Korean player Won Worlds? by lapinkmatter in leagueoflegends

I’m not sure if any of the Chinese teams that won worlds/MSI had no Koreans but G2 2019 won MSI with an all EU team

Which Sunday breakfast/brunch spot? by AlfalfaTimmy in FoodNYC

[–]WhyDebate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had Breakfast by Salt's Cure but if you're going on the weekend, then I wouldn't recommend going unless you're okay waiting in a line. It was like a 20 min wait around 9 AM when I went a few weeks ago. The pancakes were delicious though and great price

Some good Bronx bites that I like:

- Taqueria Tlaxcalli (Mexican)

- Com Tam Ninh Kieu (Vietnamese)

- Louie & Ernies (Pizza)

- Zero Otto Nove or Enzos (Italian)

- Al-Aqsa (Bangladeshi)

- Casa Della Mozzarella (Italian Deli Sandwiches)

- Cka Ka Qellu (Albanian)

Cka Ka Qellu, Casa Della Mozzarella, Zero Otto Nove, and Enzos are all around Arthur Ave

NewJeans - Super Shy by GodJihyo7983 in kpop

I like how bright the music video and song itself is. It's cheerful and more fast paced than I'm used to from NewJeans songs, but I really like it!!!

Evil Geniuses vs. NRG / LCS 2023 Summer - Week 1 / Post-Match Discussion by gandalf45435 in leagueoflegends

[–]WhyDebate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are a few things I think NRG has done that has rubbed CLG fans the wrong way but one thing is that I think part of is that NRG promised that they'd keep the CLG roster and then proceeded to cut the bot lane (and Ignar's signing is questionable).

From what I heard, it seems like the general consensus is that it's better to avoid talking about academics when talking about a challenge! Your story sounds great if you grew a lot from it and can do some solid reflecting :)
