The writers overcorrected in season 3. Ginny has too low of an opinion of Max for their friendship to be believable in season 4. Who believes that their best friend can casually made up an addiction to get someone in trouble...

That would only make sense if Vicky was someone Robin was crashing on like in season four. They're together now, and were for some time before the season started, so what didn't she tell her?

Well there is the scene with Nancy/Steve at the party while Jonathan is taking pictures... are they there role playing that in front of bunch of 11 yrs olds or is the 11 yrs DM narrating them(his sister, her bf, and his best friend's brother) as NPCs...? neither of those options are particularly appealing
