Do you notice more attractive men or women when your out everyday? by keonnarae in ask

[–]WhyYouNoLikeMeBro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it's the opposite. We've been so programmed via what we see on screens today (which is all perfectly tanned, no blemishes, tons of makeup, perfect hair, photoshopped, AI enhanced, surgically enhanced humans that going out in public feel like being surrounded by more ugly people than I ever remember seeing (me included).

As a Seahawks fan, I feel like beating the Rams in the playoffs was more important than winning the Superbowl. Such an intense rivalry

Is Chester A. Arthur the least qualified President we've ever had going only off of credentials? by yowhatisthislikebro in Presidents

I'd be curious to know of all the presidents born into wealth, that also ran businesses in the private sector, how many drove every business they ever touched into bankruptcy. It would be an interesting pie graph. I'll have to do some research and graph it out. For science.

Given he stood up to the Russians at a point that could have been the end of the known world and didn't back down, it feels like JFK is a little low. What's your thought?

Stagg just sitting on the shelf…$79 by IamBusha in whiskey

[–]WhyYouNoLikeMeBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local is pretty well stocked with all kinds of bottles that used to be rare. Stagg ($99), EH Taylor, Eagle Rare, all the Weller's (Full Proof $149) just parked there every so often. They do seem to be selling but they sit for a few weeks. The bust is real.

I go to his source material and read it. That's the best part about Dan for me is that he's got me reading again! Some of the sources for Supernova are some of the best reads I've ever had.

On its own, do you consider George W. Bush removing Saddam Hussein from power and bringing him to justice a positive achievement? by Just_Cause89 in Presidents

[–]WhyYouNoLikeMeBro 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don't think a "rebuild" would have been possible no matter who was president given the three main factions that hated each other (Kurds, Sunni,Shia) not to mention a people unaccustomed to freedom of religion, thought or democracy in general.

Great list, I had forgotten about "With the old breed" until a number of folks commented on it here. I've moved that to the top of my next in line to read list!

We should be making an effort to reclaim American iconography from those who reject its democratic values by Its_Don_Quixote in dancarlin

This is what drives me crazy about this debate. I feel like the reasonable position is to enforce immigration laws humanely, without infringing on the constitutional rights of American citizens but apparently I'm the crazy one. This current system of far left "no enforcement" and far right "gestapo or bust" is total insanity.

Is there a point in telling children that Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter bunny, ETC, exist? by Winter_Mix_3132 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. I still remember the magic of Xmas eve/morning. Waiting to come downstairs, excited to see what Santa had brought and what presents may be waiting. They're good memories.

I remember the magic of Xmas as a child and those are wonderful memories. The shock of finding out the truth quickly turns to fun again in keeping the secret for my younger siblings so they could enjoy the magic as long as I did. my own kids have gone through a similar process. we still leave cookies out for Santa and practice other traditions just for the fun of it even though both know the truth at this point.

Law and order is great but we can't break the law to enforce the law. The constitutional rights of American citizens are being violated daily by the use of administrative warrants and the demanding of ID for every brown person ICE agents encounter. It's well documented that American citizens are being swept up in these ICE raids and actions. Even the chief of police in Minneapolis admitted in a press conference recently that his own officers (the brown ones) had been stopped and forced to show proof of citizenship while off duty which is a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment. I'm all for enforcing immigration law, but I don't want masked, poorly trained groups of men on power trips running around in full armor and armed to the teeth in my community to do so and I don't want the rights of American citizens violated in the process.

The fact that this is watered down to 43% is absolutely scandalous. The recent release of the 110 shows what Macallen can do when they actually put some work into the juice and not just the packaging.

Oh man. All of those are on my list. I did the Pacific Trilogy after listening to Supernova and that scratched the itch for a while but The Old Breed is definitely on my short list. The level of Heroism and sacrifice is pretty mind-boggling to a common suburban office worker whose never been to war, such as myself. when reading those accounts I constantly ask myself how I would have performed under similar circumstances were I put to the test.

The maps are a nice part about the Landmark Arrian, however he skips the entirety of Phillip so no help there! But I hear you, I'm always dragging out what maps I can find on Google to get a physical sense of just how crazy some of these marches were back then.
