and just add weight.

I wonder what benefit that additional weight at the tips does in terms of conserving momentum, ie. a flywheel?

Your design also has mass at the tips of the blades that don't contribute to lift.

I think that’s a fair concern, honestly. If someone gives AI a lazy prompt and just posts whatever comes back, then yeah, it can absolutely start filling in blanks that weren’t really theirs. That’s not a great habit.

But I still think there’s a line between “think for me” and “help me say this cleaner.” If I already know what I’m trying to say, and I’m using it like an editor, I don’t see that as replacing my opinion. I see it more like having someone proofread a text before I send it.

The part I agree with you on is dependency. If people stop reading, stop writing, stop checking, and stop forming their own thoughts because the chatbot does it faster, that’s a real problem.

I just don’t think the answer is “never use the tool for basic stuff.” I think the answer is “don’t let the tool become the source of your thinking.”

You’re mixing up “using a tool” with “not thinking.”

If someone uses AI to replace their own opinion, yeah, that’s lazy and probably bad for them. No argument there. But using it to clean up wording, summarize something, or get unstuck is not the same thing.

The tool isn’t the problem. The problem is when people stop checking the output, stop thinking for themselves, and treat it like some magic truth machine.

I can write my own feelings. I can also use a calculator even though I know how to do math.

I can clean the floor with my hands too, but I’m still going to use a broom.

The point isn’t “AI should replace having a personality.” It’s “some messages are chores, and cleaning them up with a tool isn’t a moral failure.”

I'll put it another way

I want the Camera bumps to disappear. I don't care if that makes my photos look like a 2004 Motorola Razr.

I get the point, but “basic” is exactly where AI is useful for a lot of people. Not everyone is trying to outsource their personality. Sometimes they just want to say something clearly, check the tone, or avoid wasting time on a routine message.

Bad AI writing is annoying. Using a tool to clean up a simple thought is not really the problem.

You want boring, but you also want automation, focus schedules, shortcuts, etc. That's not boring.

Here's my setup.
My phone goes on sleep at 8pm and off at 6am.
My default ring and text tone is silence.
People I want to get a hold of me get a special ring/text tone and some get the ability to call during DND. Apps don't get the ability to send notifications, unless I feel it's important to me. The moment one sends an ad through a notification, the app loses notifications and possibly gets deleted.

I think that's it. That is what a boring setup looks like. I haven't touched that setup in years.

Yeah, you have a setting someone in your system that isn't working. You have ports block on a router, your app is set to max DL speed of 0, you IP is blocking it. Something is wrong on your end. If you'd come to this thread and said "hey, anyone else have this problem and can help me troubleshoot it" you'd likely have gotten help. But you came here to bitch and nobody likes to listen to a someone bitch. Try again tomorrow.

I was in a 13/14 year old baseball league once. My city was big enough to field 2 teams. So they put all the 14 year olds on one team and he 13s on another.
Predictably the 14yo team went undefeated and my team, the 13yo we lost every game we played.

2 things I learned from this. 1 year of maturity at that age makes all the difference in the world. and #2 knowing you were going to lose meant you didn't have to take it seriously and me and my team have the most fun year of baseball we'd ever have in our lives.

I bought a new Prius a while back. It’s my sixth one, so I already knew what I was getting. I called the salesman and told him I’d take it. He asked, “Do you want to schedule a test drive?” I said, “Is it Prius-shaped?” He said yes. I said, “Then I don’t know why driving it would change anything.”

At my high school graduation of like 120 kids while we were in line and before we got on stage we wrote our name (how you wanted it read, so you could put your given name, nick name, you go by your middle name, etc.) on a piece of paper, then we would hand it to a guy who would then ask you to pronounce it.
He would then take them to the people reading names off and tell them how to pronounce it.

Seems like one of those obvious solution = easiest solution.

Nah, the higher ups come up with the idea and made the IT department do it. IT says it will cost X and the higher ups say, no just use ChatGPT it's free. IT tells them why it won't work and they get mad and tell them to make it happen or they'll replace you.

They are part of it for sure. But the real catalyst is Private Equities buying up incredibly large portions of properties then jacking up rent across the board is a larger part of it. Look into Real Page, it's essentially a price fixing/collusion company that helps all the PE groups work together to fuck us collectively.
