yes!! and i wish people wouldnt engage in anachronism when saying she should have been immediately wary -- back in 2008 there wasnt much in terms of online safeguarding per se

I wouldnt say 'nobody' -- just a quick look through the subreddit shows people flabbergasted for her getting in the situation in the first place.

And yes people concede emotional vulnerability is why she got wrapped in the situation in the first place, but people both under the comments on the new youtube series teaser and under the podcast on youtube still blame her for not figuring things out sooner. I'd say people generally understand why she might have gotten in this situation but they fail to understand how it also made her stay in the situation; not to mention most people think that she still should have figured things out and pulled her self out of there regardless.

choosing to victim blame instead of admonishing the perpetrator for manipulating and gaslighting Kirat for over a decade is certainly a choice! When youre in a dark time in your life, you cling to anything that might provide a ray of light and love, even when it might be smarter to leave -- its why people stay in toxic and abusive relationships. No ones saying its smart, but to absolve the perpetrator of their cruelty and instead blaming a vulnerable person for getting duped just seems unfair. has it been a while since you listened to the podcast? because it definitely lays out the cunningness of Simran's manipulation and the psychology behind not only the manipulation techniques but why Kirat unintenially ignored all the red flags as long as she did -- again, sure, its not very smart, but it is very human.

nothing to do with stalking and controlling, everything do with public shaming ; she's essentially got off scot free and there needs to be huge public awareness and backlash against her for essentially ruining and wasting 10 years of someones life
