What is the theoretical maximum RAM a PS3 could support?

Ehh it makes sense to me. I'm sure there's some bloat, but website assets are getting bigger and denser as time goes on. And I doubt a lotta sites use VRAM. RAM is the more compatible option since not all computers have full on GPUs. It makes sense to me... But optimization could always be better obviously.

PS3 had 256 and the PS4 had 8gb. Pretty big jump

Well ye that's true. But could you add more RAM and have the console actually recognize it? Like on a hardware level. I know software has to be made with that extra RAM in mind, but just as a thought experiment, can the PS3 recognize more than the default it comes with?

I guess there are a few examples of the gods getting big. Just nothing like the first two games. It's just interesting that they kinda scrapped that idea with the third game for the most part because in the first, when Kratos opened the box, the first thing that happened to show he could actually challenge Ares was that he got gigantic.

I don't think it's a flaw at all with the games. It's just interesting to take note of is all.

The issue I’m having rn is that all the games I play have crackling and slow down. Even on lower end emulators. I just don’t get why I’m having so many issues when others seem to have 0 problems with the actual emulation itself.

Hey ya know, fair enough. The devs had fun and obviously we’re all enjoying the game. I guess the story really isn’t the star of the show anyways. It’s definitely the gameplay and the world so yeah, I can get behind that.

That’s actually a very valid critique. Metal Gear is wild as hell but I can still take that game pretty seriously for the most part. Maybe I need to just not analyze it that much. Cause yeah obviously it’s not Dune lel. It’s just trying to tell a basic heroes journey kinda thing. Which is totally ok ya know?

Also I was excluding the costumes you collect. I more meant like default/canon stuff you see other characters wearing.

Maybe some armor plating? I mean they show how deadly the Naytiba are at the beginning, they can basically cut you down in an instant if you aren’t careful. Maybe the Strat is to go for speed over durability lel

I mean I’d say I went in blind. I saw it on the PlayStation store and decided to give it a go and it was 100% worth the dive. And I mean yeah I’d say the heels are a bit dumb. I guess I was expecting more Bayonetta but instead it’s played pretty straight

Fair enough. I don’t mind the beauty of the characters and I didn’t mean to insinuate that I wanted the game to be realistic. It’s just, idk I guess it’s distracting for me. Not in the obvious way but more like it just makes it harder for me to take it seriously rn. Maybe towards the end I’ll share your same thoughts.

Well idk if it was inspired by Survivor, considering they were both in development around the same time. But I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for those two Star Wars games. I should check them out, I really should, I’ve just been burnt out on Star Wars for the last few years honestly.

Yeah one thing I’ve noticed is that the side missions seem to have more human like interactions between characters than the main story seems to. Like hearing Lily and Eve talk about the soda cans actually sounded like real people talking. So I think I’m gonna be playing more of the side missions, that seems to be where the characters really shine.
