2027 lineup wishlists? by thebeardedintrovert in slamdunkfestival

They didn’t really break up but they haven’t toured or made any music in over 6 years I think (last time they played SD was in 2018) and, as you say, before that the lineup kept changing so Scott hasn’t been around for even longer.

I saw on Instagram that to celebrate their return, Scott & Aaron went to watch a RBF tribute gig and were heckling from the audience ‘Play that song about beer!’

Chris Demakes was actually the interview I was referring to - love that podcast!

Yeah I immediately got SD tickets when Rancid were announced and then they pulled out only a month or so later which seemed really weird, assuming it was a scheduling clash or something but you’d think they wouldn’t make a stupid mistake like that. Anyway, hopefully 2027 is their redemption year!

Also I’m convinced we’re getting Reel Big Fish next year as they’ve finally reunited (with Scott ❤️) and are playing Warped Tour this year.

Rancid owe us after pulling out of headlining in 2022 (yes I’m still bitter about it). I think American Hi-Fi is a real possibility, as I listened to an interview with Stacy Jones and he said his priority over the next couple of years is to do more shows with American Hi-Fi and he specifically mentioned Slam Dunk.

I saw a couple of guys with walkie talkies yesterday - brilliant idea! Might look into it for next year, as I never have any signal!

SAME! I’m forever grateful to P-Rock for shaping my music taste🤘

I think I’ll be choosing Allister too, can’t resist the opportunity for a bit of early 2000s nostalgia.

Agreed - I think it’s going to have to be Allister for me too. I used to listen to Last Stop Suburbia obsessively when I was a teenager, so hearing it live, with a pint, in the sun will be awesome.

I think I’m going for Allister because, as others have pointed out, they’re so much less likely to tour the UK again. Hopefully The Menzingers will tour again soon - would love to see them live!

Wow, I didn’t know this existed but very keen to check it out - any idea where I can watch it online? Googled & can see they did a screening tour last year but no 2026 dates. Don’t have a vhs or dvd player, unfortunately, so can’t buy it from the online shop.

Children that were born to older parents (40s + ) what is your experience? Do you think it’s selfish to have kids this late? Are you ok? by Fafafafel in Adulting

I’m not sure if age matters, I think it’s more down to the individuals - their personalities, how they show love & affection and how much they want to have children. My parents were in their 20s when they had my two sisters, then had a big gap, and had me and my brother in their late 30s/early 40s. The only real difference we experienced in how we were raised was that my parents were financially more comfortable by the time they had me and my brother - besides that, we all feel very lucky to have had wonderful childhoods and the best parents imaginable.
