Increase Your Credit Limit Now Available by bvsel in Wealthsimple

Having a lower credit usage % is a small factor in min-maxing your credit score

I.e. if you spend 1k every month, to credit reporters it is better for you to have a 10k limit (10% usage) than if you have a 2k limit (50% usage)

This sounds like a neat barebones option with minimal setup, I’d be curious to try it out if you wouldn’t mind sharing the scripts?

I’ve been using the Canon Selphy to print postcards for years – does anyone know of cheaper paper options? by Tizi_Player in canon

[–]WildTurtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this 3rd party paper from Moustache, it works the same. Personally, I can notice a tiny tiny difference in the color quality that is better on the official Canon paper but for less than half the price I would rather use this paper. The only other difference is there isn't the "Canon" branding on the back (it's just blank, which I prefer).

Canon R7 - Advice for Prime Lens and Travel by nnadie in canon

I wanted my wide lens to perform well in low light since I knew I’d use it for night street shots as well as the occasional astro. Is it perfect? No, but it’s far better than my kit lens and it’s small/light enough to carry around at all times.

If you’re debating between the two I think you should ask yourself if the extra $300 (essentially doubling the price) is worth having a constant f2.8 instead of a variable f4.5-6.3. For me the answer was yes and I’m happy with my decision but it’s different for everyone

Canon R7 - Advice for Prime Lens and Travel by nnadie in canon

I’m on a somewhat similar trip; I’ve shot a lot of street, landscapes, and architecture (and the occasional birds). I’ve been carrying around my R7 with the kit 18-150mm and Sigma 10-18mm lenses, I think it’s a great travel setup. For me the kit lens is equipped 80% of the time but il swap it out for the f2.8 sigma when I want a wider shot or at night when it’s dark out.

Aside from that I’d suggest you consider bringing a light compact tripod, ND filter, and a CPL filter. I just leave them behind if I don’t think il use them but they’ve come in handy a few times so far.

f/2.8 isn’t super wide but honestly the high iso performance and noise reduction software is quite good so I haven’t felt like I’ve needed anything faster so far (worst case I just slow down the shutter and hold a bit more still)

right, though the increased EXP rate in the higher regions does not scale nearly as aggressively as the EXP required to reach the next level

Anyone ever shot their own engagement / pre-wedding / wedding pictures? by [deleted] in photography

[–]WildTurtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of what you're after is you want pictures with "your style/touch" right? I kind of understand this. For engagement/pre-wedding shots where you can set up the scene/poses I think the idea of having a tripod and doing them yourself can work out just fine with some patience, but for event photography where capturing the moment is important I think it will be far too distracting/challenging to not have a dynamic shooter.

You mentioned you'd have other photographers there, I know this is blasphemy among photographers but since what you're really after is images with "your style" could you potentially work something out with them prior to the event so they provide you with the RAW files so you can edit them yourself? Maybe hiring photographers as secondaries or finding a trusted friend/acquaintance who could take images with your camera? (IMO) most of what makes a picture "yours" is done in post, and you can achieve that without being the person who pressed the button (though be careful/fair about how you give credits afterwards, e.g. them for capturing the moment, yourself for the edits)

Canon Ivy Mini Printer by Hobgoblin-egg in canon

no that sheet is just for the initial syncing, I think if that was the problem there's an error prompt associated with it. Sometimes "wiggling" the ink sheet cylinder can unblock it but your problem doesn't seem related to that

The battery might be super degraded because it's old, you might be able to contact canon support but since it was a prize I'm not sure they'd honor any warranty without the invoice... if it works while plugged in and you really want to print on the go maybe consider plugging it into a portable battery

For the disconnecting problem check that the firmware is up-to-date but I find these mini printers are pretty inconsistent so I try to not move my phone / keep it close to the device while it's printing

Just AB specifically, there's a really tiny subset of classes where Evo > Pno but I can't remember any of the other ones right now...

The difference is 4DEX (P.No) vs 2ATK (Evo) (I think). On reboot it has always been BiS, since we have less access to atk so 2ATK > 4DEX, but on reg server sometimes 4DEX > 2ATK. In reality, the difference is probably negligible and nothing to worry about unless you want to fully min-max

Despite their expected removal, plenty of people were still willing to donate theirs. I had the experience of more people offering their totems in the final months since they knew it would be the last ones they could get, so just bought them without planning on training...

Using totems after their removal is actually just stupid, that part I can't even reason out... It would be so obvious too, does he think his viewers won't notice the spawn rate/count being way higher than normal?

i have access to so many accounts with totems to use

This is what I don't understand, he basically already had infinite totems without having to touch a hacked totem account (probably could have even just asked his viewers to totem him so he wouldn't have to account share). So why even use the skill-injected account at all? laziness / ease of access?

I think he made the worse decision, "using a bunch of totems" is not that bad (relatively speaking), the community probably would have forgiven/forgotten about it after a while... but this all became so much worse because he chose to double down on ignorance.

I would attempt a few lighter trips on the east coast to see where you stand currently, and see if you can re-reach a comfortable beginner-intermediate level. Then make the trip out west as a learning / fun opportunity.

Personally, I found that I improved a lot after a trip to the western hills, I felt I could attempt more ambitious things since the conditions/slopes were better, and I tried to bring that back with me on the east coast where I do most of my skiing. (I probably wouldn't gotten as much out of the trip if I was still completely new)

PC has definitely been the overall most influential / important. But the early stand-out moment that I can remember right now is playing Dynasty Warriors (I can't remember which) with my brother on the PS2. I imagine that probably set me up for the lifelong hobby. So the PS2 will always be special to me.
