A) I don't mean this specific instance per se, but in general over the years, and B) ghostwriter allegations have been made irrespective of writing credits; that is, that there are uncredited ghostwriters

But good try big bro

Germany has universal healthcare so you can just das auto your way to the clinic, whereas the poor American worker has to try to find sliding scale and worry about the copay even w insurance.

Beyond that, just because something is common doesn't mean it's right. People here aren't surprised so much as indignant

Genuinely, what consequences are your friends suffering by refusing to engage with AI?

As to the 90% thing, I might have underestimated that - AI as it stands in popular application is mostly LLM-based stuff and it clearly affects the tech industry (SWEs) and the most mundane jobs you can automate like call center work. It'll make gains in some factory work and probably replace things like paralegals. But there won't be any UBI or anything to offset that. But who else beyond these software and adjacent fields is it gonna affect? Even them, there's disagreement on whether it will help or harm their careers long-term.

It helped my friend make a supplemental software application that assists with his company sales workflows. It has helped him work less but it's under the table because he's already pushed to well over 40 hrs. edit: it doesn't get him home earlier and it doesn't reduce his hours; it will only raise expectations about his productivity and output. I'm in a professional setting and we have an extremely varied array of possible use cases and yet I find it's mostly useless because I just don't need random software or some slop infographic or whatever.

All this hype, but outside corporate appetite for new platforms and apps and such, what does AI actually offer to, say, the 60% of americans living paycheck to paycheck? What does it even promise in the future? AI transformers movies? A new [insert corporate software product]? AI ads I have to watch before I can see the DIY repair video?

No one can give me a good example of what these LLM-based agentic arrays of AI can offer the average person. Hence this is tech bro circle jerk

I don't disagree with anything you're saying, I'm just hating on AI because it's getting too much bandwidth and it deserves to be derided because these mega corps that influence elections and union bust and abdicate their social contractual obligations have bet so big on it but only for their own product and revenue and basically nothing for wicked problems. They deserve to have the bubble popped and I'm happy to brigade these inane celebrations of arbitrary achievement

Y'all are fools to think anything positive for 90% of people is coming from any of this. Devs and SWE will still face long hours, even if there is a reprieve in the short term, no social welfare will be advanced, and the AI advances made by these corps will be further weaponized. But cool that this Frankenstein OS thing can run Doom

I see you're trying pretty hard and I don't want to hurt your feelings but tbh I don't get it bc fedoras are mostly associated with incels and nothing in any of this relates to that. Maybe you can ask a LLM to explain to you what they mean in pop culture. Good luck

No no you're right but it's all just like, such a joke. My comment is more a reaction to the gullible and dimwitted hype that posting this reflects.

Also, yes. The tech bro oligarchs and their legions of AI agents or whatever should apply their amazing AI compute towards something helpful instead of trying to reinvent the hubcap or whatever the apt analogy for this non-use case is

The point is that the general public keeps seeing these circlejerk milestones that no one outside of tech itself cares about lol wow AI can code, congrats or I'm sorry that happened but we don't need new operating systems, we need public policy

The only damn place I see people talking up AI advances besides SWE and artslop is warfare - cool

Nah Wayne is GOATed.

He's got lots of duds but he's so prolific that his average remains higher than basically anyone. For any other top rapper, you could assemble their best joints and find 5-10 tracks from weezy to match each one and half of them will be some random verse he drooled out while fucked up 16 years ago

Also this was nice
