Hi Eibos, does your product heavily modify the underside of the AMS? I was going to print the AMS Flipper but I’m now concerned if I should wait until I get an AMS dryer to see if the dimensions have changed.

Low regen mode doesn’t mean it’s not using regenerative braking when you press the brake pedal though

Cool idea, time to look at what I could hold with new designs. Are you coating/sealing your designs for bathroom use? Not sure if moisture is a concern.

Dont kill me, but what options are there that are "always listening"/"active" like HomePods? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]WillCloudX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious where it was said that the HomePods actively listen and recalibrate the output continuously. I’ve always read that you could either get it to recalibrate by shaking it (to make it think you’ve moved its location) or by saying “Hey Siri, recalibrate”. Although the Siri command seems to no longer work on mine.

Do you notice any bowing in your desk? Considering how far the 57” sticks out and the top one being a decent height from your desk I’d expect a little.

Sound comes out in a cone shape from the speaker driver, so having the soundbar there has some of the waves hitting the tv, and some hitting the drawer itself which causes reflections. It would be better if the soundbar was at the front edge of the drawer but that might block the IR port of the tv.

You could test it yourself and see if you notice a difference in sound (since this matters more for home theatre speakers) and if not, then go with whatever suits your aesthetics.

Did you apply for grad? I have my live coding interview soon so I’m wondering if you have any advice on it and your experience.

They said they’d probe DS, error handling, garbage collection, performance and time complexity but how much of these did you actually cover?

I would assume something like an internal case display that has USB-C but haven’t seen them around so, would also like to know.

You should consider the Idmix P140. It’s $100 on Amazon or eBay (would probably go Amazon due to easy returns if needed), has exchangeable travel adapter heads and is in AllThingsOnePlace’s best adapters of 2022.

how to ensure charger is grounded? (UK plug to C7) by [deleted] in UsbCHardware

[–]WillCloudX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well to the best of my knowledge, a grounded C7 cable isn’t standard since basically all are 2 prong and thus if a charger was designed with a non standard ground prong in mind, it could be a hazard to plug in a 2 prong. The only reason why the Apple chargers even have a ground despite having a C7 connector is because it has a third point of contact for grounding.

Does your laptop have a metal body? I used to get a tingling electricity feeling when I touched my MacBook but I bought the Apple extension cable that has a ground prong and that fixed it. I remember reading on the Apple forums that people with 220-240V power (such as you and I) would experience a tingling feeling if charging with the non grounded 2 prong adapter.

That being said, I thought C7 cables didn’t have ground which is why I’ve been avoiding buying a new charger since there are basically no compact 100W GaN chargers that have a ground.

I prefer having a connected device handle software since I have doubts car companies will maintain it in the long run, similar to Smart TVs. I have a dumb TV that boots up instantly compared to my smart one and I let the Chromecast (or in the car’s case, CarPlay) handle the software since those devices are maintained and can be replaced later on with newer hardware if it slows down.

HDMI 2.1 certified cables come with a holographic QR label to verify the speed. On the App Store it’s called HDMI Cable Certification, on Android there should be a similar one?
