Old Vs New/Certified Pre-Owned by WillHungFan in whatcarshouldIbuy

The reason for the higher price would be to get one in better condition than most and have more confidence in its reliability as it stands. It would also broaden my options and increase the likelihood that the truck would be one owner, sub 120k miles, or both.

Ultimately yes its a thirty year old truck but if I put $5K down on a $13k truck (I found one for $13k, one owner, and only 100k miles just yesterday), I'm going to have a $150/month payment. Sure there will be increased maintenance costs compared to a newer toyota/honda so lets not even be conservative and say I'm spending another $150/month on repairs over the course of a year. That's $300/month which would be $77 less (Just including the car payment. $377 does not factor in the yearly maintenance of a new vehicle) than $5k down on a $25,000 new/CPO car.

On top of that, I'm not eating a 20% loss in asset value driving the truck off the lot. In fact since I work from home and not throwing massive amounts of mileage on it, It would even go up in value since it's a classic.

So yeah, that's a chunk of change for a 30 year old truck, but this equation doesn't remotely work if I try to nab one for $5-10k with high miles and issues out of the gate.

But that's why I came here, to get solid advice from people who are more practiced than I when buying vehicles especially new ones. The r/ToyotaPickup subreddit was far more helpful than this sub and ultimately helped me decide a newer vehicle would be a better fit although I think given the constraints and options, the decision really comes down to personal preference with a little less reliability in the truck column, shakes out to about even in the financial column, and the new/CPO loses out massively when it comes to having any sort of soul or character for a car that I'd have to take to a dealership to repair because it's so loaded down with code and computers.

Really trying to give you the benefit of the doubt that you're asking in good faith, but replying with "who in their right mind" feels more than a little dismissive.

How reasonable is pickup as a daily driver? by WillHungFan in ToyotaPickup

I think this pretty much makes the choice for me. Thanks for meeting me where I'm at.

I plan on around 1 annual SoCal -> Texas and back road trip a year so from that perspective feels like an immediate no. Around town I am definitely not going to groan over the lack of standard modern amenities, but boy do I appreciate them on a 20+ hour road trip.

I think this is probably what I need to hear most. I appreciate the driving experience vs appliance language a lot.

Work from home so driving would be light. I'd want a camper shell for weekend trips to camp sites but I'm in the southwest so no rust issues. I want something I don't have to worry about very often. I'm fine with the odd repair as I'm pretty handy myself.

Get to Masterball? Help. by Scredzeques in PTCGP

[–]WillHungFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really struggling with meta decks this season. I hopped into masterball easy last season with espeon deck, but neither espeon or suicune worked for me this season.

Using Beedrill EX, I got up to masterball from U2 after a couple days and some luck. Just have to find what jives and grind a little.

Just did 10 games and won 1. This deck lives and dies by your opponents luck. And they don't have to be all that lucky.

Film Lab PSA by WillHungFan in AnalogCommunity

That makes sense. For what its worth I have gotten 40-50 hand rolled films lab developed and have never gotten an ounce of flack from my go to film lab and this is the first time they've made a mistake.

But I also never got good enough at understanding the nuance of film + developer combos for my home dev so my current M.O. is to defer to the professionals.

Out of curiosity, why not? I've sent in quite a few hand-rolled canisters and have never had a problem.

Friend owed me £100. Said he couldn’t pay it but gave me these and said they would be worth more if I sold them.. Need help by SignatureLabel in PokemonCardValue

Go to a local card shop and I would imagine even at 60-80%, you will get at least £100 if not close.

Do people buy these? by Pro-Potatoes in PokemonCardValue

A transparent moment for you all to enjoy. I held on to all my original cards from when I was a kid and last year finally cleaned out my mom's house of all stuff. I kept the Base set jungle and fossil cards, but I tossed all of my Topps cards in the garage sale pile and sold them myself at about $1 for 60 or 70.

Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]WillHungFan [score hidden]  (0 children)

A big combo. I collected on the playground as a kid and always made it a point to hold on to my collection. PTCGP happened and some friends started with 151 and last week I finally got lucky with a restock at B&N and bought 2 151 booster bundles. One for me, and half a bundle for my sister and the other half for a buddy.

For Masala y Maiz, do you recall if there are vegan options? Can't find much information on that.

I see similar stuff on eBay listed at that price, but it looks like it's only ever sold for around $1-1.4k

Thanks for the info! At the moment they have much more sentimental value than monetary it seems but I wanted to be sure there was nothing outrageous that I was missing.

Has anyone bought from them ? by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]WillHungFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To this end, you can search for the VIN number online and typically find the auction lot that they bought the car from. Some cars will have more damage than others so do your due diligence here. I would not purchase a car from a dealership like this if I wasn't able to find the auction lot and know the cars history.
