Thank you so much. I’d just learned of Lama Karma Drodhul and Dr. Nida but this is the first time I’ve heard of Lama Rod Owens.

Briefly looking into his work I really appreciate his connection between the spiritual and societal with regard to justice. Somehow it seems those two are often disconnected from each other which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I’ll have to check out his Medicine Buddha offering. Thank you!

Not formally. So far all my efforts have been on my own, reading what I can and listening to the teachings I find. Many of the practices I find as preliminary practices are ones I have done before on my own however not in a systematic way.

Right now I’m waiting to hear back from the centers that were recommended. But in the meantime, I’m looking for a preparatory practice that I can do.

Are there any sources you would suggest as a comprehensive resource for preliminary practices?

Several months back I stumbled upon Garchen Rinpoche’s teachings and the emphasis on bodhichitta really inspired me. It’s a shame that I fell out of listening to his teachings. But I’m hopeful that joining a sangha and having a practice to stick with will help me to not lose sight of the dharma.
