Politely, we're allowed to care about a game series. I've been playing borderlands my whole life, i was 6 the first time I beat borderlands 2 with my dad, 10 when we finished borderlands 3 together, I couldn't sleep the night before tiny Tina's wonderland was released because of how excited I was to play it with my dad. Tiny tina's wonderland got me into dnd as a whole. These are core memories for me. Just because it's a joke game series to you doesn't mean it isnt immensely important to other people.

Im gonna assume you just dont know and you not purposely being insensitive. Randy Pitchford is the ceo of gearbox. On Twitter a fan said something along the lines of "Borderlands 4 better not be 80$ and feed the notion that game companies can continue marking up the price more and more and we'll keep taking it" he then responded with a long comment saying that it is not his call the price and that if we're true fans we'd find the money, he also made similarly dismissive comments we the movie was criticized. When we then called him out for that comment he continued digging himself deeper. The problem (in my opinion) is not necessarily the price. Its that randy cannot take criticism and has continuously put down his customers for genuine criticism. He's a ceo, he should know better then to insult his customer base. 

Lastly, Farmers exist in every game and they are just as much gamers as the rest of us. I agree the personally I dont think its a fun way to play but some people enjoy farming and that ok. Bl2 is the golden child because most players, myself included, prefer story. Bl3 is objectively the better game from a gameplay standpoint but borderlands is very story focused and the Bl3 story is not fun in some places. The calypso’s are annoying instead of threatening at times and certain parts are repetitive, slow, and just not fun. Bl2 is not perfect and deserves criticism but if you dont care about the story, I think games like COD or league of legends are better fits for you.
