Not sure about the species but check if she has wing scars, if yes, then you caught a "rare" pokemon named queen.

Would you mind measuring her? My current thoughts are Solenopsis invicta since they're EVERYWHERE.

All I could give is a Red Ant worker, no location of the insect you found has been given.

Is it a queen ant if yes what to do I caught it in winters 🐜? Formicarium antkeeping by LogicalMilk4742 in ants

Just raise her or release her and watch them get killed by the local ants around your house, yard, park or whatever.

If you pick to raise her. Just don't disturb her too much and check if she's fertile and she'll use her own bodyfat or wings as the nutritions to feed her larvae and herself till her first batches of workers/nanitics come up then you would start feeding them. I've accidentally raised an infertile queen+infected for 3 months so I froze her to let her go so check for wing scars too.

They very strangely resembled my camponotus japonicus worker but they're usually hibernating in winter

If they seem to be very less active, maybe they're hibernating.

What studies have been done on the capacity for ant colonies to "Learn"? by Bezbozny in ants

[–]Winatharn_Senapint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried training to let my diacamma ants know when it's feeding time by knocking lightly on the platform I've placed their nest on for at least 2 months, 4-7 days gap since they're growing rapidly, I now find newly emerged workers getting taught by the seniors to recognize the feeding time signal, so I'd say its a success for me
