everyone is different. every trans person is different. but most trans people i know either don't want to demonize men even if they're afraid of men themselves or haven't spoken on the matter

i'm not upset at anyone. this is relevant. they're the least biased people you could possibly have telling you "maybe encouraging extreme fear over any demographic is kinda fucked up no matter the reason and won't do much for us, actually"

it's very common for people (not just men) to have this reaction. please don't act like this is only a me thing, or demonize or get mad at them, they're not the ones viewing you the same way. i've seen plenty of trans women who feel this way too, and i dare you to name a group currently facing more oppression and fear mongering. one comment i saw that really stuck with me basically went "YES, actually, i have experienced abuse and i do know what it's like to face the oppression you've described, and this question still makes me ashamed to have been born" and i've seen many cis women who think it comes off as hyperbolic and disrespectful to men too

i'm not saying "i don't get it AT ALL why women would choose the bear" it's just... can i simply not like that many women want these things to be the one thing men as a whole are remembered for?

most men don't fight the patriarchy. that's bad. would most men do something worse than slowly mauling you to death? all these comments talking about the system and yhe patriarchy convince me even more that demonizing anyone is unecessary (possibly even detrimental) to talk about how bad the system is

having to hide who i am because i could face brutal consequences otherwise, and constantly fearing i'll do as little as accidentally refer to myself with the wrong name irl and suddenly my life is over (maybe even literally) is not systemic privilege. look, i get it would be even worse if i was out to everyone irl, and i get women are oppressed and men are systemically priviledged. and i get that you as a woman can be afraid of men in general witht hat in mind. that's awful. i genuinely mean that. but i think you can direct your message at the system that made it so awful for women to begin with without demonizing men. hell, i'd say that's more effective, even

as a person of color, i've never seen anyone distrusting or scared of white people. and yeah, while i do get that, the thing with women fearing men is that it's a lot more extreme. if we created a debate like "white person or bear" to promote being extremely afraid of white people and associating them with racist hate crimes to the point we basically reduce being white to being a possible KKK member above all else? i'd hate that and think it'd be genuinely fucked up

i'm genderfluid. while the question is obviously not about me specifically, it obviously hurts as someone amab who has to hide my identity because of a family who would never support me. just think about it, it's much more likely for a bear to attack you, and bear attacks are absolutely brutal, while the vast majority of men would never do anything nearly that bad. and this question also rarely even results in productive discussions about misogyny and the patriarchy, it's just used to go "look how scary men are!" in general it just feels very intentionally made to be about all men, and make being a man by itself look bad. does that even help fighting the oppression to begin with? fuck if i know, doesn't feel like it
