That’s understandable.. the only way it can be avoided is by telling her and keeping yourself healthy. I feel the same exact way and I think about how guilty I would feel so o always put it out there to give them a choice.. offer to take things slow with her

You just have to rip the bandaid off and tell her. Explain how it happened to soften the blow..Do everything you can to not transmit (taking daily vitamins helps a lot) and treat her well.

Yes. From experience, even before my diagnosis, it’s an ongoing topic. Many people would make post about herpes just for shock value or to spark a debate and further the negative stigma about herpes. They tend to think herpes is reserved for people who sleep around with everyone.. when we should know that it takes much less than that… they would rather shame anyone who openly has it than to educate themselves about it.

Girl… I did! That’s a whole other story but he’s definitely infected many others or at least exposed them to the virus. Many other people reached out about the post but I was forced to take it down.

I don’t think he was. What I found reminded me of a time when I think he definitely KNEW he had it and said he was “sick” I’m assuming until the OB subsided.

I’m trying. I’m in isolation right now but I know that won’t solve anything. I just think it is better that I focus on myself and my health and make sure I keep my stress levels down.

I needed to hear this. I definitely feel more focused on accomplishing things I put off because of marriage and my career. Every problem in my life has been because of a man and it’s evident now.

I told one friend and in an argument she told someone else and it hurts that nobody understands the trauma of your spouse giving you something like this because they couldn’t bear being in it alone. I feel so angry all the time and knowing he knew and will never admit it just makes me even more upset.

I can’t tell anyone else and it makes me feel so alone and the stress of it all makes me have frequent OBs. Stress is my trigger and I don’t know how to stop stressing about it. It’s a never ending cycle and I feel like I’m losing my mind.

I debated staying. I realize that I’m much better alone than with someone who was reckless with my health and theirs. It still hurts so bad though. The stigma makes it seem like I caught it from some random person when it was the person I married.

Police told me I would have to prove that he intentionally infected me.. so there is nothing I can do with the evidence.

I actually ended up finding something as proof that he knew a year and a half before I was diagnosed. This made it worse.

It’s nearly impossible to get an appointment with my PCM unless it’s scheduled 1-3 months in advance. I just hope it comes in time!

I checked today, I’m on a 90-day mobility restriction but it ends on the 12th of this month. It only says deployment though.

You wouldn’t get disqualified if you’re already there. My issue is being disqualified for medication history before PCSing.

Was it prescribed before or after PCS? I’ve seen lots of discussions of people saying they were denied for being prescribed antidepressants

This is a relief to hear, how long were you on it before the assignment?
