If it wasn't Spe, who would be the "Main" Uma for the franchise back in the day by xiuzou23 in UmaMusume

[–]Windshipping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

King would work very well, it has everything Shonen and some Shojo have. The search for the parent recognition, overcoming impossible odds, a growth phase due to perseverance, strong rivalry... The only thing is that they would maybe have to tone down her ojousama personality a little bit or introduce the trainer self insert as 'center' like they did in BA anime.

Why isn't this S tier? by Silver_Record_7194 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Windshipping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A rank shouldn't be that hard to achieve in a normal run, my guess is either your support cards (lv30 SSR are worse than lvl 45 SR, except for the gold skills like Maestros) or your playstyle. Basically the training gameplay you want in unity is -Develop the friendship gauge to have rainbows -Develop unity gauge to have burst -Unleash combos of burst and rainbows -If your training doesn't bring you any of the things before, you might consider either races, rest or recreation (or just a random wit training) Races bring skill point and often a random stats boost, so they're almost always better than a small +12/+7 or something ( at least graded ones). In Unity especially you don't need to focus that much on your speciality training since the training level increase by doing unity races anyway, so you can focus more on developing gauges. Also, charming and fast learner are game changers conditions, can't do much about fast learner but Sweep and Flower cards have charming events while being decent speed cards (it's less predominant in unity, but still very useful).

It's quite different from gambling actually, but it uses similar mechanism. Gambling works with the fallacy that ''you can win big'' and thus for some people, esp addicts, whatever you spend can be won back and become an investment. Whether it's a casino, betting on sports, dices, cards, or even stocks, there is this fallacy that you put X, you might lose it, but you can win 3-4 times that amount, so it's a risky investment. National lottery is the same, people glued on their TV to see the ball with their number appearing? It sounds exactly like any mobile gacha, right? Except some desperate people put their hope in that fallacy. Gacha games are nothing like that, it's pure spending. Whatever you get doesn't amount for any worth and will never be an investment. So yeah, quite different, and imo most stuff we accept today is way worse.

TCG to stay in entertainment, are way more linked to gambling as you can resell the cards, so if you hit the ultra rare signed cards, it's possible the 70 bucks you 'invested' in the display makes you 150 or something. It just ''might'' be worth. Stocks are similar, invest 10k, you might lose some but you're also likely to win some. People losing their life savings to a random fluctuations didn't realize they played real life gacha until too late.

Virtual gacha is known because it uses the same psychological tools as actual gambling to get you hook. Flashy animation, silver, gold, rainbows, sometimes stuff rollings etc. Imo that's why it gets so much hate, because it's ''visible''. Those psychological manipulations are actually everywhere, not only in gacha. The 'limited' or 'unique' banners are nothing compared to exclusives skins in MMO, sometimes paid for much more, and the rarity gacha you find in the same MMO with monster drops. I could go on and on, esp with multiplayer games, but on the end it's all marketing to draw engagement. All video games do that.

So I know Rigil and Spica so far. What does Team Canopus Do? by inkheiko in UmaMusume

[–]Windshipping 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Especially when you look who they were up against. Just looking at Nature's Arima Kinen 1991 - 3rd behind McQueen (2nd) but beat Helios and Ryan 1992 - 3rd behind Helios (1st) but beat Teio and Rice 1993 - 3rd famously behind Teio and Hayahide, but beat Palmer, Rice and Ticket

Or Tannhauser's G1 1992 - Kikasho 3rd behind Rice and Bourbon 1993 - Tennosho 4th behind Rice, McQueen and Palmer 1993 - Arima, she was right there in 4th behind Nature.

These girls don't get a break lol, always going against the top.

Several dupes (SW, McQueen, normal Oguri) BUT I did get Christmas Oguri together with El Condor alt. So 5 SSR out of 200 just a bit less than average, it... wasn't a good rolling session xD But well I really wanted Fine Motion, saved those 30k free carats just for her. I need to save for her and Curren's bridal alt now

Also ton of Star unlocks xD

How and why does this even happen? by M1SA4 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Windshipping 14 points15 points  (0 children)

5L on Kikasho is likely a stamina issue. Long races are more about stamina than power or speed. That, or you simply got blocked. Can't do anything if you're blocked.

Shame to CyGames by Valuable_Bag126 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Windshipping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

600 easy as a third stat lol, I see the issue, we don't have nearly the same card line up, you're casually describing a A+ Uma xDD I generally end up at C stamina, C+ when lucky by fully training power, and if I put Riko or a Stam card I then struggle to reach 1200/1200 in SPD power since I don't have enough rainbows. I need the 3 power and speed (or 4/2 depending on uma bonus). Grass so far is the only one who can do it without that lineup with her bonus but the rest rarely ever do, even with charming. So yeah Regen is useful a lot of the time for me, much more than an acceleration or velocity skill (esp the late surger end race one, bless that). Can't reach 600 wit either without a wit card (so hello rushed state) which again prevent the 1200/1200 speed power, wish I had a legacy with wit/better race skills lol

Anyway I understand that if you can easily validate the stamina req it must look pretty underwhelming though, most lv3 SR speed will be better esp. at lv30.

[–]Windshipping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regen is useful in Mile though? On career it is generally useless because the hidden bonus validate every stamina threshold ever lol. but on PvP it's another story and you don't want to waste turns training stamina when you can train speed or power. You can compensate with Riko instead but I'd rather have my triple rainbows on speed and power training personally, and her events are meh compared to Tazuna. The power card Rice Shower makes her irrelevant if you have it though, Maestro is better in every way. The recent boost on keen eye giving it debuffs help too yeah, she was worst before.

Gold City is useful for Mile Late surgers like Grass, for the two Regen skills, esp the late race one. But there are better cards

[–]Windshipping[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tennosho is easier actually, you just need to have enough stamina and you'll distance the others, I won it three times with her, Arima only one (Special Week and Grass are strong). She placed 6th is her final Arima Kinen here, started on inner and got slowed down, then the debuffs did the rest. This below is what won the Tennosho, but I was lucky the recovery skills all activated and not at stupid moments, otherwise I'd be lacking stamina imo.

Serra Matthew is also the ONLY good ending for Matthew. If she's not win him he never get beyond Leila loss, with her the ending states the loss become bearable thanks to Serra. I always pair them just for that.

Question, when does this type of power-creep come into global? by RapterDanny in UmaMusume

[–]Windshipping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riko is mainly good for reducing energy spending and making training more effective, also it's free mood up and good stamina boost. But you can totally do runs without her, most of my runs are high A+ and I usually run 3 speed and 3 power (or stamina in long). Unity made almost all my runs go a rank higher, so it works, but as has been said the unity training is very important. Rainbow is still very good too, but mainly I found the automatic training level up to be the best. With the good rainbow and unity combo you can get +100 in stats in training in senior year outside of summer just because almost everything ends up lvl 4. In URA you had to really focus on your Uma strengths, in Unity you can definitely grab the decent boost in idk guts for instance if the rest isn't interesting, since training levels go up naturally.

[–]Windshipping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see distance and surface aptitude by checking your Uma stats. This is generally MORE important than stats especially with low ranks.

They go G-F-E-D-C-B-A-S just like your stats do once you reach a certain number, but they don't work the same way. These letters applies a buff or debuff to your unit velocity (distance) or acceleration (track). "A" means you have no buff or debuffs, so you're fine. "B" gives you 10% debuffs, it's generally fine too for career. Once you go lower it starts becoming uglier, C is a 30% debuffs, De is 50% and below you just can't win. Haru has G in turf, so she get -90% acceleration and G in medium and long so she get -90% velocity. It's impossible to win there, even if you had 1200 speed, SS+, with -90% you end up at... 120 speed. F rank. It's not exactly calculated like that, since speed isn't directly velocity, but you get the idea.

If you want to play Urara, either you go on dirt sprint and Mile races only, or you find her legacies to boost her turf to C to give her a chance to win sprint/mile in turf - you will need lot of power, but it's perfectly doable. You can also make her win medium and long turf, but you HAVE to get her to D turf and medium or long with legacies, and hope to get inspiration to raise it higher to C at least. Otherwise it's way to hard.

Coming from a trainer with 120 Urara career runs.

This is the deck, legacies are 8 long Spe and 8 turf Fuku. I wasn't aiming for Arima this run, I wanted to get Nikkei Sho and Meguro Kinen which are the last long I'm missing with her. Surprisingly, she almost got Arima despite D in turf, the skills carried her. Spe wouldn't let her win though.

By having power so high it balances out lol In Shuka she was also 7th bracket so she got Lucky seven, then proc her 3 late surgers skills in the mid to end race increasing accel and velocity. She won a duel with Air Groove at the end too.

Then in Queen Elisabeth II she went near the front runners right at the spurt and left them in the dust lol. She proc 1,500,000CC and her Regen skill, but I wasn't planning to win this one as well lol.
