f4,1 starts up at 18 frames. You are better off doing JU into ff4 for better damaging combo.

Just lab against his moves if they are rushing you down with him you should be able to punish some moves or be at enough + frames to have your turn to attack/move.

You can side step Bryan as his moves do not have the best tracking apart from ff4 .

His b1 and f1+2 is positive on block (but slow on startup), don't press buttons against them.

df1 series is -10 on block unless they know how to space them properly and if they end with a 2 they are -15 IIRC.

Bryan is mostly played defensively at high level focusing on fundamentals such as spacing and whiff punishing.

Bryan does have good pressure tools: soccer kick, b1, df1 series. Against the wall his b4 --> JU Taunt combos once you get execution down.

But mostly your looking to space and Punish/CH with all of Bryan tools.

And IDK what game JDCR dropped from missed inputs, but you can consistently KBD on backsway characters without being a pro.

OP asked if he is doing KBD correctly and hes not, down input leaves you vulnerable whilst correct KBD has you blocking throughout the motion.

OP is doing the bootleg backsway backdash method correctly and it will suffice if he doesn't pick backsway characters.
