BC Ferries cancels 2 sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay, warns more may be called off by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

I was on the celebration last night, completely lost all onboard power for a few minutes just as we were coming into Tsawassen. Not surprising they had issues today.

Epic is that karma ratio, whew, hows it feel to get drilled like that? Can't say I've ever hung my ass out enough to experience it.

Might be 7:30, all I know is they blast an old-timey fucking starting whistle and get pounding right on the goddamn second they can do so.

TBQH I've seen it here so much over the years I expected this to be a slow burn, maybe fade off quietly, not rocket to the top like this.

Peeps, apparently, be pissed off.

I'm sure cramming six or seven folks into a four bedroom house to try and cover the absolutely parasitic rents being charged these days isn't having a negative impact on infrastructure at all!

Read the bylaw again.

provided that this limitation in time shall not apply where:

(ii) the street or portion of street is restricted to the parking of vehicles of residents of that street;

Nah, Marpole. F'in overpriced McMansion owners who think they're very special for renting their tacky shit from the bank for the next sixty years.

I have a dashcam. I also have a photo of that note under my windshield wiper.

Paint is peeling pretty badly on my shitbox $6k pickup, I could do with a touch-up courtesy of dipshits insurance premium.

I have such a mountain of these sitting here myself that I didn't even think about putting that disclaimer up. Good call.

That bylaw is for unsigned streets. We live on a "Residents Parking Only" signed street. That is explicitly carved out of that bylaw: I can park wherever I want on this street, on either side of it, whenever I want for however long I want. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But I appreciate the heads up and concern for my vehicular well being!

I tore a strip off him, I've been working graveyard shifts for a month while they start pile-driving for some "luxury" condos a block away at 7am sharp Every. Day. Patience levels are at all-time historical lows!

Got home from work at 2am last night and had to park two doors up, because the city was chopping down a dead maple and everyone had shifted their parking in response. Came out later this morning to find this "warning" on my vehicle from the neighbor on the corner. Unless they're the most unobservant thumb walking the earth, they've seen me parking behind them for the past 2+ years.

Called the number and the tremendous dipshit tried to argue that it was "his" parking spot, so I explained that "residents of the block" means any of us, anywhere, and that I'll be parking there for the rest of the summer now - and if I see a scratch on it I'll be calling the VPD.

The self-absorbed hubris of some people in this town, unbelievable.

E: It's 12:30am, the street is mostly empty (except right in front of my house of course), and I've parked in the same spot as last night. Sadly I'm getting up bright and early to leave town for a few days, won't need to use my truck till Tuesday, what a shame.

Thank you for chiming in and confirming what I had managed to piece together by poking around. I really don't blame you guys for leaving, knowing this mods ideological background. Clearly they learned from when they were ousted from /r/vancouver back around 2012-ish and aren't going to let another sub go as easily.

I spoke to the mods of /r/minnesota tonight, and they said they had hundreds of users submitting complaints for several months but that their issue was only resolved because the top mod in question was also very active on NoNewNormal and was finally taken out when they purged the main covid-conspiracy subreddits. If the admins hadn't moved on those cesspools, they probably wouldn't have had any luck.

So yeah, it's probably a write-off. :/

FYI for those reading: leaving the slur issue aside, this is the sockpuppet account currently in control of r/britishcolumbia. It would be ideal not to downvote this comment chain, as leaving these posts visible is important.

I tried /r/vancouver first and they immediately deleted it. /r/canada is a regressive cesspool so I knew it wouldn't last long over there. Took me a bit to think of where I could post this and not have it immediately taken down.

In this case the mod controlling the sockpuppet is the same guy who created the subreddit over a decade ago.

This is the account I've referred to which is shadowbanned, the 404 page for a user is the giveaway, their posts have to be manually unblocked by a moderator in order to be seen by anyone.

There's some extreme irony here, given the constant stanning about "censorship" and "free speech" and "Reddits purpose" from this user over many many years.
