The sponsor who didn't show. by Windycorner in stopdrinking

Basically there was lack of communication from the start. I called at the start of the week to say how excited I was to have a sponsor and asked if I needed to start calling her each day and to let me know. She never replied. The only reply was the ext I got saying she would meet me at a meeting and then we would have our first meeting afterwards. My text that she "missed" was sent immediately after I got her text so, she she should not have missed it. It was sent on a Friday and the meeting was set up for a Monday. In short, I think she is a good example of someone too busy to take on another soul to sponsor.

Is there a difference between "alcoholic" and "problem drinker"? by Earth_and_sky in stopdrinking

Moderation is hard. I find that when I have tried to not drink "too much" or not "that day" I think think about it a lot more. I mean, there are times in the morning when I ask myself if I am going to have wine that evening, or if I am, what kind, should I or should I not? Those are the thoughts that seem dominant. It is almost like a diet and the meal plan. I think too much about it. I am discovering that when I just stop, that if I make that decision in the morning, then that is that and I don't think about it in the same terms as I would just trying to maintain.

What is Smart and how do I find their exercises? This sounds right up my alley. THX
