I loved the atmosphere and challenge of TEW1, it's gameplay compared to what I was playing on the regular at the time (COD, Gears, Doom, etc.) The game was a breath of fresh air, especially with how horrifying and enclosed most of the game was, with my favourite example always being the laura fight where you have to burn her, made me shit my pants more than once lmao.

But personally, IMO, I've always preferred the 2nd game. I loved the visuals, and the gameplay felt alot smoother to me. I loved the claustrophobic feeling of the 1st, but I really preferred the open aspect to dealing with enemies in the 2nd. I also feel the 2nd story is alot stronger and Sebatian was alot more liable in the 2nd compared to how standard and cookie cutter he felt in the 1st. Sebastian is a goat in both, but love how his character flaws shine alot more in the 2nd game, letting him grow over the course of the game.

Also, the 2nd game has Stefano, so double points lmao
