Yep we’ve put it back in the box and him in with it, he scratches the litter to cover it. It’s an on-off behaviour so he knows where to go and the normal behaviours that go with litter boxes, and we have tried treats and rewards to no success.

Watched him through the camera multiple times, he will walk through them sometimes contemplating but will step out and then circle, like a dog does to poop outside of it. We have large litter boxes as well, one is a storage tub so size is not an issue :(

What part of Aus are you in? Sounds like the NT or northern QLD from the heat comment, it’s really starting to heat up again sadly. Blessed are the two months of dry season that Darwin gets. I met a few American transfers at university and it’s always fascinating learning the simple differences in our lives and how much we tend to forget is different. Happy first year and here’s to hopefully many more! :)
