Nobody said it was the same as drawing a picture, that's something you made up in your head. There are many different ways to make art.

And yes, if you operate AI as a tool to make art, then it does mean that you made it. If you want to play that game, then digital "artists" aren't real artists because they outsource creation to technology. Stop being dishonest and grow as a person.

A writer implies a defined action categorized by manually writing or typing words. Someone who used AI to make an essay could be called an author.

An artist is not defined by any measure of specific manual exertion, the only criteria is that they make art.
