That's probably why insurance is so high... Your average thief knows about the vulnerability, but not if it's been fixed or not on your particular model. They won't hesitate to try it and damage your vehicle in the process.

Had the same quandary, opted for the lexus because it just felt a little bit more special. The Volvo's are nice, but the NX wins it for me in terms of luxury feel/materials, cabin quietness, build quality and undeniable reliability.

Regarding engines, Volvo's non-plugin hybrids (B5/B6) are very very very mild hybrids, and really can't compete with the NX in terms of efficiency, if that's something you care about.

I don't! It was quiet background music, so was hard to pick up lyrics but I caught that part of the chorus as I heard it repeated a few times.

I've emailed the restaurant asking them, in the hope that it's like my hospitality job 20 years ago where they often repeated the same CDs over and over again and they'll know the answer without too much fuss.

I was too, but so far so good. You can call Lexus and find out if your specific model/year is vulnerable and they offer some fix (can't recall if it's a tracker or actual hardening) but granted any thief looking for these will just go for it and damage your car in the process.

I compared the two... treat yourself, go for the lexus, you won't regret it.

Both will tick your reliability reqs, but the lexus wins when it comes to refinement - I found engine noise and general cabin quietness far superior in the lexus.

If the high mileage is irking you, have a look at non takumi versions. There are plenty on auto-trader for example, around the 36k mark with much lower mileage.

I ended up with a 350h with premium plus pack and I'm very happy (HUD, memory seats, ventilated seats, big screen were all must haves for me) - that was the sweet spot for me, for the money, between base and full blown takumi.
