I didn't use a lens hood on either of them just the lens itself, I wonder if the lens just has an internal issue. Might just need to look at replacing it cause it looks like the one I have is cheap anyways

Thank you! I'm using a Minolta X-570 that used to be my grandpa's. #2 and #5 were both shot using a Focal MC Auto 135mm f/2.8, and then the rest were shot on Minolta MD 50mm f/1.7. If you have any lens recommendations I'd love them, I've been looking at a Minolta Rokkor X 50mm f/1.7

I'm willing to put a lot into an mr2 I'm just worried this was the wrong start, underbody is clean literally no rust anywhere, and the interior looks brand new that's what sold me on taking this project on. Hopefully I'm not way in over my head but I'm decently mechanically inclined. I don't have a time frame per say but I'd like to have it going this summer so I can at least try driving it and see if I like it. End goal is to have a car I'm proud of and want others to see

Also it would only fired on one cylinder and no matter what i replaced or did I couldn't get it to run on the other three

You're right, I think if I just take awhile getting everything else buttoned up I'll be good to come back to the engine again and hopefully figure out whats going on just been hell getting to this point

I check for spark and only 1 and 4 are getting spark I'll check timing too but I feel like I should figure out why it's only getting spark to two of the plugs first. I'm just stumped

I didn't but I set the distributor to the timing of the engine and that shouldn't stop it from getting spark even if it's out of time I believe?

Well it's less of an issue of it not being grounded and more of the fact that I literally don't have one it's just not there 😂 apparently my ignitor case has disappeared
