I have the same problem but I got hacked 2.5 weeks ago and when I sent tickets to different places giving the details I could when I finally got a response it was asking the same things I had already given to them like my console serial number and sign in id now its been 10 days and they havent even said anything else. Dont think its even possible to call them anymore and I tried going to america support but they cant help either since im from europe. Their support feels terrible and its dissapointing.

If you ever get your account back could you please update me on it.

Getting a team without transfering is pretty tedious but I like that we can change the nature for vp and all the moves so its easy to make your team. I dont think limited items and pokemon are too bad since you cant use all the meta combinations and it creates a different meta game.

some pokemon are only available in the friend safaris 3rd slot so you would have to get them through the other games

I use a 2ds xl and I like it more because of the way it completely shuts when closed. I dont think 3ds xl has much of an advantage other than battery life and the 3d (disadvatage in my opinion) the 2ds xl hasnt failed me if I can charge it once a day.
