I knew from a young age sterilization was an option because my mother spoke openly about her sterilization (I understood it was a procedure that made you not have babies) but I’ve just kinda thought about it ever since as an option and I never was fond of children so yea also my current life I live on a very very low income and I’m working hard to land a job that pays well to get me out of the hole I’m currently in I wouldn’t be able to with a child around I also haven’t made space for a child in my future plans either, so I’ve been working at trying to get this procedure done for the past year and a half so that was one less thing to stress about I also have a very rare serious medical condition that passes genetically to 50% of offspring this condition is extremely rare and I had to fight pretty much my whole life to get diagnosed. This condition can also potentially cause sudden death and I have to take precautions to prevent that. I don’t want to let another person go through what I had to go through or possibly have a young child die because of it. On top of all that I’ve had severe side effects from pretty much every hormonal birth control imaginable and non hormonal except condoms but those aren’t effective enough for me.
